I know Im a likeable kind of guy.  But I still want UWW to win.  Got a sore spot towards the MIAC from my playing days in 1990 aginst the Tommies (kicker missed the extra point).

TC and I partied in downtown Fargo the night after that SJU/CC game, but I doubt you want to wander across the river if you don't have to. That said, while Old Broadway definitely wasn't the most fun we had all night, it seemed like a pretty nice place to hang out--not if you want to have some good-natured DIII banter, though. I have a hunch that Cobbers stay a good distance from that place.

I'll echo Kilted's comments about the music and the drive. The last 50 miles are the worst, as the hills and trees quickly disappear and give way to the amazingly flat Red River valley. And yes, SJU is a great place to stop on the way west. Just think, if things go well for Coe, you could be making the trip up I94 a second time. ;)

we can only hope!  thanks for the info....we'll see you saturday!!!

MR,

I agree, I will be cheering the MIAC on and will even be attending some of the game at SJU saturday.

We need to pound the crap out of central first (another sore spot 16-13 loss 1988) Yeah I know... let it go!!!

Kubiack78,

I like Central as a team and even though they beat my team I think you will beat them soundly.  That is unless "The WIAC teams beat themselves up to much in the conference schedule"  :)

Johnnies fans - there was an earlier post mentioning Monmouth's trash talking fans.  I think too much is being read into the posts.  What you may think is trash talk is probably more excitement than anything else.  Hopefully you'll find out on Saturday that our fans, including me, are just excited about MC's success right now.

also, around the stadium it looks like there is a lot of open space...will there be a section for MC fans to tailgate before the game?

Hello the the MIAC posters.
i am a former Fight Scots player from 2001 and wanted to stop by to say good luck to the Johnnies this weekend. I'll be honest, i didnt know a lot about your program, but i checked out the website and i am very impressed. i love the fact that the head coach started coaching at the age of 16 for his h.s. fb team when his coach got drafted. unreal. well i'm just hoping for a great/clean game by both sides. MC is a lot of fun to watch so i hope you guys get to experience what we are so excited about. Good luck to both teams.

No disrespect, but I'd be more impressed with his 431 wins, 4 national titles, and .770+ winning percentage ;)

I'm excited to see this super-duper QB of yours. 3 picks is an amazing number, no matter the competition. Even great QBs accidentally throw a pick once in a while.
Nice day, huh?

You and your group will be setting up with or next to us so we can be collegial. The location will be in the Science Hall parking lot, just south and east of the field. Parking will be limited, especially for late arrivers ao you may have to park elsewhere and walk to the scene of the festivities.

We all know that post patterns is a place to unleash our alter egos. The RPI guys were the cockiest bunch of.... but very cool in person.

There is a fair amount of open space, as far as tailgating goes, get there early and park behind (south of) the stadium. To get to that lot, drive straight the whole way from I-94, through the stop sign and then make the first possible left. This lot usually fills up early, but is a great spot to tailgate. You can pop out your grills and stuff there. Once the lot is full, they baracade it off so you can grill in the aisles of the parking lot if you wish.

That being said, it is much easier to just go to JohnnieRed's tailgate which will be in the NorthWest corner of that same lot. Bring some chips or something to share and your own adult beverage of choice to drink out of a red cup (avoid the rent-a-cop harassment). He's got great food and you can meet a lot of the clowns that hang out on the MIAC board.

Take a moment to reference this campus map: http://www.csbsju.edu/about/directions/SJUmap2005.pdf

The Johnnie Red tailgate will be taking place in the parking lot surrounded by buildings 30a, 30, and 31. The lot fills fast, but if you get to campus soon enough, you'll be able to set up shop there as well and mingle with tons o' Johnnie fans.

Also, at the extreme bottom of the map you can see a sliver of a parking lot by buildings marked 38. There are always bunches of fans tailgating in that lot as well.

Note, however, that to get good spots in either of these lots, you'll want to be on campus at least two hours before game time (I wouldn't expect any less if you're going to tailgate). Once it gets closer to kickoff, the only places to park are along Cty 159 outside campus, and that's no fun.

If you're asking about a spot inside the stadium, I don't think there will be any of the sort set aside.
Nice day, huh?

Fightingscot,
We talk a lot of trash(at least, some of us), but like you mentioned, it's all in excitement and fun.  Enjoy the play-off atmosphere.  Not a lot of teams get to, and it's the most fun time of the year.  Hope to meet you Saturday.  I'll be the big, blonde guy with a beer in my hand.
