I'm still waiting for a thank-you from all of the Ole fans.

They'll first have to establish that the scoreline wasn't faked (it's all bits and bytes, you know).  Maybe a Congressional investigation.

Who had the biggest upset this weekend, Augsburg, Heidelberg, or Stanford(-burg)?

Ritz actually picked the Heidelberg upset, thing is he picked it a week early ;D
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Lone Auggie Backer

TC- tough call on which was the biggest upset.  We knocked off #11, They knocked off #17 - advantage -bUrg.  We won by 1 they won by 22, advantage -bErg. We were in the battle of the -bUrgs, they were in the battle of...  nope.  AugsbUrg's upset was the bigger upset.  Of course the Stanfordsvilleburg victory was HUGE.  I hear they were 40 point dogs going in.  At S.C. and everything.  I wonder how big a dog we and -bErg were in our games.  But, here's to, hopefully, two MIAC teams in the playoffs!
Out of order, I'll show you out of order! You don't know what out of order is, Mr Task! I'd show you but I'm too old, I'm too tired, and I'm too f----n blind. If I were the man I was 5 years ago, I'd take a FLAMETHROWER to this place. Out of order, who the hell do you think you're talking to?

D3 poll is out, Johnnies remain at # 4.  St Olaf moves to #13, a demand for a recount will most likely be filed by Al Franken when he visits Northfield on Tuesday.

Part of stating assumptions shows that you are willing to accept certain conditions.  It does not mean that assume something about a person.  In History you might make assumptions about primary source materials to express a belief in some circumstance.  I recently wrote a paper where I had to assume (and wrote on the paper) that the author of my source was actually a witness to the event.  I don't think I have ever made a personal attack on any member of this board.  I don't know you and you don't know me except for reading each others' posts.

Also to the Lone Auggie Backer I won't thank Augsburg for helping the St. Olaf cause.  I think Ausburg deserves a lot better.  I was impressed with how they played St. Olaf.  Augsburg has scored the most points on St. Olaf this season.  The team has a strong quick strike offense.  They spread the field well, and the quarterback has a good arm.  It looks like the defense played extremely well on Saturday.  Well done Augsburg.

I think Heidelberg had the biggest upset. They had not won an OAC game since 2003, and from 2000-06 were 4-66.

Not even the 1899 Cleveland Spiders (20-134) were THAT bad (though they were 1-40 in their last 41).

Heidelberg is akin to Florida International beating Tennessee.
Augsburg is akin to SMU beating Texas Tech.

...just sayin...

Stanford beating USC at USC would be like Hamline beating St. John's at home.

Olefan, I think your brain might have been starved for oxygen in your mascot outfit.  Get real.

The last 15 pages were a great read. I really wanted to make the trip north again for the second time in three weeks, but when some friends called at 10 a.m. yesterday and said, "Oktoberfest," I couldn't say no.

New Ulm was pretty fun last night (not Bockfest fun, though), but looks like the real fun was up in Collegeville.

Hope to make it to Bethel in a few weeks.

As much as I hate to disrupt speculation about who doctored what photo and how many Ole's were holding other facemasks on the grassy nole, I have to break it up for a brief announcement.

I PASSED MY 2nd Step of Boards!

For the 2nd year in a row, my self-induced 1 month posting hiatus worked!

Not only did I pass, I beat the mean by a 1.33 Standard Deviations!

+k to all within reach, including the Ole fans as I hear I missed a helluva a game and a helluvan effort from the boys from Northfield!

I expect Augsburg to win football games.  SMU is struggling with life after professional football.  Therefore I do not expect SMU to win.

Is Bockfest well worth the trip?  I am considering going to the upcoming one.

Congrats on the Boards!  That is very impressive.

Johnnie

Hey Kilted Rat,

"Not only did I pass, I beat the mean by a 1.33 Standard Deviations!"

my question is this:  In which direction?????!!!

Dr. Johnnie

DutchFan2004

Kilted Rat,

+k for passing the boards.  I am very happy for you.  I know personally that you guys (and gals being politically correct here) work very hard on the studies to become the best doctors you can.  Congrats on passing the test.

On another note.

The Johnnie fans are some times a little confrontational but never stupid in their comments.  The Johnnies are always behind their team and good hearted,  but SJU09  your post on the IIAC board is very stupid IMHO.  The IIAC give up their AQ for the loss to the Auggies?  With that kind of logic the MIAC should have already given up theirs as the loss of your reigning conference champ (Bethel) to a lower team in the IIAC (BV) should have had you forfeiting your AQ.  So does that make any sense?  I don't think so.  You Johnnie fans should have a long talk with this guy I know you guys have more class and are smarter as a whole that this poster.  Congrats to the Johnnies on a tuff win.  Now you know how we as Central fans feel most weeks.   ;D

Hey, Augsburg has not beaten an IIAC team since 1983 when we beat Buena Vista (well, we've only played Wartburg for the last 3 years since then!) but, hey I'll gladly accept the claim that people aren't surprised when we win!

On another note, here is what I saw of the facemask.  Of course, everyone can draw their own conclusion...

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2325/1503102881_744ab77b2f_o.jpg

I stand corrected. From where I was standing I really thought he just touched him. I didn't see the head turn at all. I never doubted it was the correct call, but I was just feeling really bad for Bechdol because it was just a "touch," although I still don't think the grab either had an impact in the result of the play or was intentional, it is definitely a dangerous grab. Needless to say, there were dozens of other plays in the game that were more pivotal than this one. I'm sorry I brought it up in my first post last night.

Anywhoo, after finally breathing a little bit after big time dissapointment and getting my beer on at Octoberfest last night, I'm just really glad that both teams played well and both teams showed they could have an impact in the playoffs (just hoping both take care of business the rest of the way). It was a great day to watch college football. I forwarded on a bunch of the pics from the game to buddies of mine all over the country and they were truly impressed by the sea of red and the scene at Clemens.

IMHO, as well.  Vicious troll baiting and unwarranted.  As opposed to delicious troll baiting, which is to be encouraged.

(+k to KR.  Doin' Johnnies proud.)
