Apparently I need to dedicate my life more to being a nerd so I can make a lot of money and get chicks.

THE HAMMER

Wonka...I'm not even going to respond to your posts on that topic anymore because this is just getting old.

Cobbernation...Concordia can expect to face a STO team that has a high powered offense capable of both scoring fast with the passing game or grinding out the clock with a hard-nosed running game and a powerful, skilled O-line. On the defensive side they have a big, fast experienced front. I would say the only place that could be considered a weak point would be their secondary simply because they are a little young in that department but they make up for it with their athleticism. Concordia isn't traditionally a passing team so this may be of no help to them but I haven't had the chance to watch Concordia yet this year so I could be wrong about their passing game.

Stanbob: Yes OAS finished in something like 5 hours and a 1 minute.  He was pleased as he said he "trained like St. John's practices" for the Twin Cities Marathon.

Hmmm...  my wife ran the TC marathon and she finished in 3 hrs 58 min and she was not pleased as she did not qualify for Boston

FG, I agree with you on the WIAC.  Will be very impressed with UWW if they get through the rest of their schedule without a loss.  At UWSP, home against MHB and then at UW Stout, which I think still has the old style turf and a very disorientating field (seems like playing in a parking lot).  That's SJU's bye week so I might journey over there to see what happens.

Not sure what you mean about a disorientating field. Most people think it's a nice stadium.

The turf is being replaced next summer which will be nice.

Let me know if you are coming over and I'll get you in and you can sit with me on the 50 yard line.  ;)

How long ago did Stout get turf,  last time I played there it was a marsh made up to look like a football field with ankle high grass ;) then again that was 16 years ago

Now it looks like a parking lot, made to look like a football field. (just kidding BDB)
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

The stadium opened in 2001. They have a deal with the turf company to replace it every 7 years for a period of time.

The new turf will be the SprinTurf I am told, in by next season.

Link to Johnnie/Ole video. Almost 10 minutes of highlights - nice! Both of Weber's catches are there, though a little obscured.

Actually, I would say that it looks like a football field but FEELS like a parking lot!   ;D  (and I am not kidding, BDB.)   ;)

So are we going to see a recycling of the jokes from Ole week heading into this week with the Gusties?  I am looking forward to seeing the new stadium, hopefully it improves the atmosphere overall...Too bad you can't hold the festivities at GAC, has it always been like that?

Hope Patrick's can handle the surge of Johnnies fans that show up...they stand to make a boat load I'm sure...

Was it me or was the Ole-Johnnie matchup a little "cleaner" than past matchups?

Penalty wise it seemed cleaner-but then again the game close, so no need to resort to usual tactics. I wonder what the players would say about whether the play was "clean" in the trenches.
There is no reason why SJU should not come out and be focused and play a good game-no looking forward, don't they have Hamline next? If SJU does play poorly then GAC is better than people think or SJU has trouble focusing on good, but not great opponents.
Pat-how can you be held liable for the postings of others-unless you leave the post on the board after being informed the post is false. What duty do you owe to the public at large, when the poster is not an employee?

Yep.

Gustie and Lena was at the kitchen table for the usual morning cup of coffee and listening to a weather report coming from the radio.
"There will be 3 to 5 inches of snow today and a snow emergency has been declared. All vehicles should be parked on the odd-numbered side of the streets today to facilitate snowplows," VOJ declared.

"Oh, gosh, OK," said Gustie, getting up, bundling up and heading outside to dutifully put his car on the odd-numbered side of the street.

Two days later, Gustie and Lena were at morning coffee when the radio voice said:

"There will be 2 to 4 inches of snow today and a snow emergency has been declared. You must park your vehicles on the even-numbered side of the streets."

Gustie got up from his coffee as before. He bundled up, shuffled off, and put his car on the even-numbered side of the street.

A few days later, the couple was at the table when the radio voice declared:

"There will be 6 to 8 inches of snow today and a snow emergency has been declared. You must park your cars on the ..." Just then, the power went out.

"Park it where?" Gustie asked in the dark, "What should I do?"

"Aw, to heck with them, Gustie," Lena said, "Don't worry about it today. Just leave the car in the garage."

Fantastic video.  If you look closely, you can distinctly see both Mr. Shoes and I offering our fanboyish congratulations to Brian Weber following his touchdown.
