As long as we're talking puck, and no one has complained (yet). The Wild looked good again tonight.  The Ducks lost some good players from last year. I was impressed with the Blackhawks even though they lost to the Wild in the opener. They looked quicker than they did last year, and made some nice additions to their offense. Can't wait to finally see the unbeaten Caps with Semin and Ovechkin on Friday - finally. Will have to check the Gophers out too who play RPI in the Ice Breaker. Maybe I'll go over to the Liberty League and stir up some S&%t with the Engineers.

Alright, we are on for 11am at Patrick's as is that is when they open.  I will be there at 10:45 as suggested by the dude I talked to.  He said it's busy all day and suggested I get there 15 min early.  I will snag us some tables and hit up touch tunes for 50 play nows of the remix of Muskrat Love aka Gustie Love.

11:00 it is!  See you then.

Bout time I got around to thanking everyone for the great hospitality at Homecoming Stiftungfestivities from Festmeister JJR to fins, Duff & soon to be, Veek, ROR & R, Shoes, TC, Carbo, 105, Dusty, OAS, the Carrs and those I forgot ( I think I did pretty good for an old timer). The Stiffy was all it was cracked up to be and more. Mrs. 57 was really impressed and it's not easy to impress an Okie. Hope to get back to another one soon - does Salem sound like a good idea?
Duff,
Do you remember me asking you if you would be happy with a 1 pointer? I know you said you would take it.   :'(

A win's a win!  It's all behind us now.  GAC is all that matters.

It was great to meet you and your bride, as well!

Edmonton didn't have a prayer last night.  Backstrom did awesome as well as the rest of the team.  Although going home disappointed when Boogaard didn't get into a fight. Oh well.

I'm glad when he doesn't have to fight.

When the Wild control the puck like they did last night they won't lose too many games.

Damn, I forgot how fast Gaborik is.  :o

For those of you planning on going to the 26th annual Great American Beer Festival in Denver this week, don't bother if you don't already have tickets because it is completely sold out. So far as I can determine, 'Blue Moon' by Coors will be the only brand from a major brewer. Sorry Hamms fans. St. Bridget's porter is an early favorite. Don't know what the Flying Dog Brewery will be submitting.  :)

Duff-you worried yet about Saturday's game?
I know this is still early, but the UMHB v. UWW game could be significant, in that, if UMHB wins it would appear the South would be the second seeded region, meaning the West region winner would have to travel if an equal or lower seed. The North would play the East.

Duffman- I didn't know you were a deer hunter as well as a fisherman. I'm sure you could put up a stand on dad's farm in Wright County- you're sure to get a 6-pointer,maybe even bigger  ;)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Don't know why my comments would be incendiary to Linfield fans; I enjoy getting their dander up though.  I always like to rib them in good humor but I have great respect for the program and I like the fans that post here.

Chewey,

When you're trying to generate new clients by putting out this commercial…..you have no right to rib, kid, or bust Linfield fan’s balls.

I'd call it cautiously optomistic. 8)

Bennie, did you get to check out the Wild on your center ice package?  Reusse from the strib seems to think highly of them.  Oh, wait, nevermind, he annointed the STO  eleven the team of the century in the MIAC as well.

I only checked in on the score of that game, I didn't watch it. I do love it though when the Oilers get owned! ;D Speaking of owned, did anyone watch the Canuck/Flyers game. I watched the first five goals scored on the Canucks and switched to the Duck/Bruin game. As a bit of a Vancouver fan, that was embarassing! :-[

As to the Hockey Sux comment, I think anyone that doesn't like hockey just hasn't watched enough of it! ;D A few years ago I went with a friend on a roadtrip. We went to Vancouver to watch a Canuck/Flames game (for me) and then to Seattle to watch a Sonic/Suns game (for my friend). Last year when the NBA playoffs started my friend, who had been a diehard b-ball fan, complained that basketball was kind of boring compared to hockey! Another one converted! I should be the NHL commissioner! I couldn't do a worse job than Bettman! 8)
