Would anyone be willing to send me quarterly text messages on Saturday?  I'll be at a marriage preparation retreat  :'

Be prepared to be taught the fine art of the "Rythm Method" Duff.  ;D

When we met with the priest this spring, he asked if there was any reason that I could not "perform sexually" for my future wife.

I was very tempted to say, "I wouldn't know.  I'm not married."  :D

Duffman;  Have you tried the "eScores" on the Johnnie website..... either that or TDT could do play by play for you during your cookie breaks.  I had the foreskin to schedule our prep during August on the Collegeville campus.... Mrs. DustySJU and I went down to the field and kicked field goals during our breaks...  8)

Sfury-ok, perhaps you are correct, but I would like to hear from Pat on the issue of moderating the site, other than those terrible Gusties. ;D
BTW-why ask for comments-is that the thing to do on every site now? Except Johnniefootball.com. Why not just put a poll up and let people vote?
BTW: was J's a better nickname than Johnnies? I wish I saw that Bluebird in Rat Hall-must have been great.

I wouldn't want to speak to the operation of someone else's site. I have visited uniwatch a couple times but never spoken to them or spent a lot of time on the site to see how things are done.

Thanks, everyone, for your congratulations.

ROR - sorry, but there will be no cigars.  Now, if you were still able to drink alchohol I might have something for you.  ;)

Fins, thanks for your proclamation.

Ritz - I haven't taken the time to figure out how to post a picture on here yet.  I did take some digital shots yesterday so I'll see about getting one posted after I download them.

Frank - I laughed out loud when I read that you were going to celebrate by drinking all my beer on the 27th.  That was damn funny.  Fortunately, I have all of Tmert's beer left from the SJU/Ole game so there should be enough on hand for you.
Go Johnnies!!!

Pat, do I get extra "karma points" for plugging your work on Uniwatch?   :P

A couple of comments on recent posts:

You almost gotta be gay to run a blog on sports uniforms?

Gags could improve his sideline image if he put on a headset and didn't bother to plug it into anything ;D

Consider it my gift to the new (again) dad. 8)  I'll bring more next week - along with #1 son who will likely drink half of it.  :D

Sure, and I'll buy you a Yuengling the next time I'm in your neighborhood. :)

Did Summander get lost in the woods?  Did the loss to Stanford do him in?  Is he coming to the UST game (he does, after all, have a daughter at UST)?

Ha, this Karl Anderson from Gustavus sounds like a real douche bag and must be drinking Wonka's Haterade...

I went to Gustavus and I do admit most of the nicknames are very unoriginal along with the mascots that follow (most using some sort of lion or for St Thomas-a wildcat). As far as St. John's and Gagliardi-a very classless team and as Ryan said, "a figurehead for the program" who does very little other than just stand on the sidelines. Plus, they don't need to hit in practice anyways-its an all men's school.

Frank, Mongo: Do you guys know this clown??

I know this Karl character and he is an alright guy, but he definitely likes to stir the pot.  He is a huge right winger politically who from what I remember/have heard he riled up a lot of GAC's ultra liberal faculty.  I definitely do not agree with most of his post.  I would agree that we (MIAC) have some unoriginal nicknames and from most the people I talk to that played at SJU they say John is primarily a figurehead these days(seems to work alright tho).  I def do not think that think the Koolaid drinkers are classless and while I loved the physicality of football I would have preferred non/light contact practices.
I like to picture my Jesus singing lead vocals for Lynard Skynard with like a band of Angels behind him, and I'm in the front row HAMMERED drunk!!!

Check out the Web-site below for some [not completely complimentary] comments about the SJU football uniforms:

http://www.uniwatchblog.com

It looks like there might be some disgruntled former Johnie opponents posting in the comments section there.

I've seen this guy's uni stories on espn.com, but didn't know he had an entire blog dedicated to it. Quite the hobby. Well, at least he's not out sniffing glue.

I love that site! I am a member, using the old Expos font. Uniforms, fonts, etc. matter!

Any of you posters tried 2 below from New Belgium? If so, what are the opinions.

Got an e-mail from Paul Lukas-guy who runs that Uni site-apparently he was offended that I suggested he speak with the SID about the names on the helmets.

Pat, make it two Yuenglings and you're on. When will you be trekking to these parts?

If he's going to rag on the uniforms and call them Mickey Mouse then he hardly seems to be in a position to get offended by your suggestion.

Speaking of Mickey Mouse - why is everybody getting excited about a Mickey Mouse website?  ??? ???
