OZ, as our subject matter expert on all things Austrailian I have a question for you.  Yellow Tail wines from SE OZ, good or bad?  Have had the Riesling, reasonably priced and seems to have a high alcohol content, just please let me know if I am destroying my liver with it.  It seems to work well when going to the WIAC board, if WW is looming I may have to stock up.   ;)

I just asked the wife if Yellow Tail is any good, as I didn't recognize the name, and she said, "Na, it's sh*t.  But it's a big exporter to the US."  Aussies are a harsh bunch.  You should hear her when she's not happy with me....

On matters of travel, I'll be in San Francisco from the 11th to the 16th this month.  Anyone posting on this board live out that way (tmerton, you live if NoCal or SoCal?)?  I'd be happy to spend a night drinking and eating and drinking if you're up to it.  Unfortunately, I'm in China on the 19th so I can't zip out to MN for the first round of the playoffs (knock on wood).

Get the feeling that Yellowtail is the Fosters of wine --  it's big with seppos, but not too popular in the homeland (although US fosters is actually made in Canada). We'll use YT for cooking sometime ... cause its $5.99 a bottle.

Still, Oz, it's better than some of the Great Wall vino they sell in China and probably has less formaldehyde. :)

Checkout Johnniefootball.com while you're there to see if it's not blocked. (Great post, BTW) I had no problem reading and posting to d3football last summer, but blog-esque sites were hit and miss.

Although I'm sure once they see the name of Chairman Johnnie Red we'll be fine.

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Damn OZ, you are a braver man than me, if I were to ask my girl friend if "Yellow Tail was any good?" the answer likely would have been a lot harsher,   :D   Safe travels to you.
Everyday is payday in paradise.

Yep, that's what was reported on CH 45 during half time of the Trembling Woffers "game"... apparently, the players did an impression of Al Jolson, but added grass skirts to be "tribal warriors."  Even Ted Danson knows better - after learning the hard way- than to imitate Jolson.

Off to GAC to see the Cobber offensive machine
Is GAC/Cord the Lute-ran version of SJU-UST?
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

stanbob - I must agree with Mrs OZ. I've had many Australian wines, and Yellowtail was the only one I remember that I would never purchase again. It's price and hugemongous displays lured me in, but I won't make that mistake again.

LAB - What a fine detailed analysis.

Gold&Blue-

I totally agree with you on #2.  He annoyed me greatly.  The worst "incomplete pass demonstration" he gave was when he had been completely burned on an out-and-up by Nourie.  Unfortunately, Nourie tried to run before he caught the pass (would have been a big gainer from a severly backed up position) and ended up dropping it.  #2 had the nerve to act like he had a part in it.  I get annoyed by anyone who thinks their actions were the only part in making a play.  #2, unfortunately, was quite proud of everything he did.

Now, don't get me wrong, there were plenty of things that annoyed me by my squad as well, and I'm in no way saying me team is innocent,  it is just that #2 did such a great job of broadcasting/advertising his "greatness" tonight.

I've never been a cornish (#2) fan, he's always come off as arrogant when I've seen him around campus, but his stock took a massive hit tonight.  I don't mind people getting pumped up, but the way he did it was just dumb. Incomplete signs in front of the auggie bench, etc.  He could stand to take a lesson from brandon carr, who is twice the athlete, made several huge plays, and never does any of that annoying crap.  Rough night for receiver #6 for augsburg...man, he had like 3 touchdowns if he caught the ball consistently.  Much improved augsburg team...hope they keep it up next year and bring more fun into the miac.

I also totally agree with you on B. Carr.  He did a heck of a job last night.  Got himself into great position basically all night long.  The play he made on the HUGE interception on the 4 was a great play.  And, on top of that, seemed to play with class all night long.
Out of order, I'll show you out of order! You don't know what out of order is, Mr Task! I'd show you but I'm too old, I'm too tired, and I'm too f----n blind. If I were the man I was 5 years ago, I'd take a FLAMETHROWER to this place. Out of order, who the hell do you think you're talking to?

I'd vote for Olaf/GAC as the Lute-ran/Lutefisk Bowl!  Even though Olaf, Augsburg, GAC & CC could be in the mix, I'd still give the nod to STO/GAC

[The metrodome may feel empty for d-3 games, but it does get quite loud with only a couple hundred people yelling.  The d-3 games I've seen there have been much louder than most games I've seen played outside.

Check out this math AO: Northwestern home game= a couple hundred fans (except the day SJU played there) most MIAC home games = a couple hundred to a couple thousand fans (except when SJU plays there) SJU home games average 9,900 fans and have tipped 10,000 a couple times this season. Trust me, it gets loud there. We don't need a stinking dome or artificial noise makers (like jumping on aluminium bleachers) we just show up in mass to cheer on the Johnnies ;)

Happy Birthday Frank.....you rock! ;D
Thanks for that Johnnie math 105- but the truth is a little different.  Northwestern has averaged about 2200 at home games this season-1400 at the dome last friday-1200 when SJU came to play in '05.  --perhaps clemens could live up to it's potential if Duffman's wishes for the ratpack come true and they run around getting those seated in the reserved sections to yell.

Anyone listening to games online today (i.e. are supposed to be working)? ???
I like to picture my Jesus singing lead vocals for Lynard Skynard with like a band of Angels behind him, and I'm in the front row HAMMERED drunk!!!

kubiack78

wish I could be listening to the games  not allowed to tap into streaming audio >:(

Veek

Being the family man that I am I told my wife today that I wasn't attending an SJU footgall game nor was I even going to listen to it on the radio.  She quickly replied, "Oh, they must be having a bye week."  My supposed "brownie points" quickly evaporated into thin air.

OzJohnnie - great article on johnniefootball.com.

Well, even if this information is false, you have the best name on this board.
