There will not be an appearance on Saturday by the First Lady or the Governor at the game. :'( Sorry about that.

Bethel fans are cordially invited to join us for the Stiftungsfestivities this Saturday when the Johnnies come to town. The tailgate party will be in the parking lot off of Snelling Avenue. I'm sure I will be there by 9:00 a.m. The grills should be going by 10:30 a.m. Bring a culinary delight to share.

I guess they have an AQ, and played North Central last year. I thought about them, have they ever been but in the West. One year they played LAX, but that was a North region game.

Given the number of Pool B and C selections that annually seem to go to the West, the West region is usually filled up before needing to shift one over.  This year, the East looks *strong* and will likely fill up, meaning the North region's extras could very easily shift to the West.

I wouldn't mind taking Concordia (not Moorhead) off their hands, though-- except if it means to bump out another potential West region bid (if we moved UWW to the #2 seed in the North region, we can avoid another Salem trip by one of the two and get it over with earlier...).

I guess nobody likes Bethel.

56321: I was thinking, like Repete, in that Concordia Wisconsin could fit in nicely within the West Region Bracket.  Now I haven't done the legwork to see what kinda domino effect this would have on the North or East but I would think it remains a distinct possibility.

Bottomline is that it appears Div. 3 football is MUCk and then everybody else way behind.  There appears to be lots of parity after the big behemoth from Alliance.  Now that isn't to say 2003 can't happen again as I am sure our good friend raiderguy will attest to after that 66-0 thumping the Purple Raiders put on Bridgewater the week before the matchup with the Johnnies.

Will the posters who are +K-ing me please stand up?

skunks - That's a little more of what I was looking for in the intial post. It didn't look like Mt was the well oiled machine that we've become used to. Like I said, I knew Kmic was out, but without getting any other info from the announcers about other positions, I was fishing for that from you or others. Also, what is the feeling about the second team QB. He looked damn sharp to me in his throws, and the WR he seemd to favor (I forget his name, but I gathered that he is the brother of the John Carroll QB) looked like he was far superior to the defenders that were trying to stop him. I have no problem with the playcalling. As I mentioned, they only scored 3 during the time I was watching. Am also impressed with the fact that they have only given up 25 points all season, and have three consecutive shutouts. With any luck, they can surpass the Johnnies 1965 team that gave up 27 points in going 11 - 0.

The NCAA loves the WIAC almost as much as the WIAC loves the WIAC.

Ha!  How dare you cast dispersions on the toughest conference in the universe.

Alright, alright, alright.  I am alive and well.  Survived the birthday weekend that involved many cans of Hamm's Golden Draft in all of it's wondrous glory.

I have a confession to make to the MIACPP under the fairness of Hamm's Act.

I did not know there was a Hamm's Golden Draft.  :-[   :-X

Stanbob: C'mon lets be reasonable here.  No Johnnie worth his weight in gold could good-consciously cheer for the Tommies OR the Oles.  I see this one being a forfeit for both teams as a melee breaks out between Roney and Meidt at the 50 yd line.

This just in:

OAS is picking Bethel this week  8) 8)

Thank goodness you resolved that issue.  I've seen the teams progress in rivalry this year to a new place:

1. St Thomas is the team I love to hate
2. Bethel is the team I love to beat (almost catching Cord in this respect)
3. STO I hate to hate and love to see humiliated

I absolutely believed you frank.

On the bright side, I find a whole new Hamm's world that needs exploring.  ;D

I actually did not remember taking that picture Friday night until I was looking through my camera this morning.

I've got to change the email that PM's from this site get forwarded to.  The Chairman, CEO & President of the family saw the PM's from tmerton arranging dinner in SFO next week and now she wants to know what the hell I'm doing arranging to meet strangers for dinner over the Internets.  I tried to explain that 'stranger' may be a bit strong, but it did no good.  So, can I have a little assistance here?

Can anyone confirm that tmerton is an actual person and unlikely to:
  a) Chop me up and serve me for dinner
  b) slip me a mickey and leave me an emotionally broken wreck with more hidden memories that game of Clue
  c) Arrange to ambush me with his hoodlum friends and take all my lunch money

Thanks.
