Which team comes out tight on Saturday-Bethel needing a win for the conference championship and a playoff spot or SJU, needing a win for the conference championship, but already a lock for the playoffs. And does playing a home add more pressure?
I hope the team isn't feeling like I do, because I'm pretty tight.  My worst case scenario is this:

Bethel is able to run the ball up the middle with good success.  Their QB has success on designed runs and scrambing against our pass rush.  When the Johnnies adjust to the run the QB has success on quick out's in front of our corners.  When our corners move up to limit these they beat us on a couple of long bombs down the sidelines.

On offense we can't establish a strong running game and when AK11 tries to pass they get a good rush on him and when he scrambles he has footing troubles like he had at River Falls and Carleton.  He takes a few sacks and has a hard time finding open receivers.

The board is open to analyses to loosen up my worries.

Well  we weren't able to get much pressure on augsburg's qb, even with blitzes, so I wouldn't worry about that.  My biggest worry is our pass defense.  After seeing it horribly exposed against the auggies, it worries me when SJU is coming to town.
Thanks.  That helps. 8)

It is time for AK11 to step up and play well on a field that sucks.  The Johnnie D will play well.  Our corners will play better than they did against STU.  2 turnovers by Bethel and a break through special teams game spell victory for SJU.
How does he do that?  He's not going to change his style in the last regular season game of his career, so how do we design a game plan that allows him to succeed in situations where in the past he has been at a disadvantage?

To start AK11, and the recievers should work on grass the rest of the week.  After the Rugby tournament at the prep school the field conditions should about equal Bethels field.  They should stay outside no matter the conditions, punt, pass and kick in the elements on a torn up grass field.  Next step is John working with the special teams.  My understanding is he is what makes ordinary people play extraordinarily well.

BUT- what do I know I am justadad and John is the best coach ever.  Maybe we just have faith and let johnnie magic take over the game.

Definately think you're right about the practice field.  My thoughts early in the year were that they should keep a section of the practice area all torn up and muddy and spend at least one day a week on it.  While I've witnessed some amazing Johnnie magic, I'm just not a faith based football fan though. :(

The Johnnie D will play well.

I hope so.  Tackling was very weak against UST; with Wimmer likely still out, Eid and Eversman need to play well.

Reasons to love SJU #43:  What other school's president would brag about having a t-shirt celebrating the 50th anniversary of a local tavern ("I fought the La and the La won"). :D

WE INTERRUPT THIS FOOTBALL DISCUSSION FOR THIS IMPORTANT MESSAGE

A husband looking through the paper came upon a study that said women use more words than men.

It read, "Men use about 15,000 words per day, but women use 30,000."

Excited to prove to his wife that he had been right all along when he accused her of talking too much, he showed her the study results.

The wife thought for a while, then finally she said to her husband, "It's because we have to repeat everything we say."

The husband said, "What?"

What I have heard after talking to some Bethel people is that he is fine...and should play in Saturday's game...

Also, a person who appears to be his grandfather posted last night and then deleted it 5 minutes later.  In the post he said his unnamed freshman grandson, who is having a great year, would be ready.
