You tricky, sneaky Johnnies....don't think I don't see what's happening here!

Lost the last game......not play that well....have to go on the road for all the play-offs........hmmm....seems like a perfect scenario for another "miracle run".   ;D

Hopefully.......our little team in Alliance will be waiting for you at the end of the rainbow.   ;)

Last negative post about 2007 Johnnie Football.

1) How many special team blunders did we have this year?
Bethel, St Olaf, St Thomas, more ?

2) If the the offense was not at fault for poor output (14pts) How many
points should we score to win?

3) How does our team really expect to move through the playoffs with 2
out of 3 units playing poorly?

4) Can we really expect our defense to win it all?

Starting at Noon it is a whole new season, lots to look forward to, many opportunities to embrace.

GO JOHNNIES

I don't usually post on this board but have found it necessary to read these post all the time so I can keep tabs on my buddy BDB.  I need to post this morning, however, for two reasons: 1)  One of my daughters graduated from Bethel and my son-in-law works there.  They are nice, normal kids and Amy even dances every once in awhile.  2)  You Johnnie posters are always clever and very funny after all the wins. (Maybe not as funny as JanesvilleFlash, but funny).  What is even more impressive about you guys, however, is your passion and love for your team and program after a loss.  You are not used to this and you still carry yourselves very well.  I find myself rooting for the Johnnies all the time now, and it doesn't make any sense.  I guess I have bought into your line.  It's a class act

BDB

Well, I've got to give it up to Duffman. He called it pretty close. Maybe not the amount of scoring but he was within one point of the final outcome.  :-\

Son of BDB's hockey squad put the Monkey Stomp on River Falls 6-1 yesterday anyway.

Stoutguy, tell the Mrs. I'll be over for bacon and eggs here shortly.  ;)

Congrats to Bethel on the conference championship (solo, this time).  You certainly straightened-out your season after game 1 and are deserving champions.

The day-after thoughts tend to be a bit more sound and well thought-out than the day-of thoughts.  My thoughts on the day-after: Bethel flat out won this game with a dominant second half.  Yes, we were up 14-10 until the last minute of the 4th, which confused me into thinking we somehow deserved to win that game.  We didn't do enough today to earn it.  But we should live to see next week.

The playoffs have often been a place of redemption for the Johnnies (e.g., 2000 season).  Let's hope they peak at the right time and you never know what can happen.

Go Johnnies.

Stoutguy, I'm with you.  You gotta love D-3 football and all it represents.  The MIAC, WIAC, SJU and all the other teams in D-3 are what god created football for.  It's a microcosim of what this country once stood for.

Yesterdays results certainly weren't a surprise.  St. John's has been able to get by several "average" teams (River Falls, Carleton, St. Olaf – above average) this year and eventually we were bound to lose a close game.  (Bethel had more to play for yesterday – which I also think was a factor)  This years squad is good, but really is missing the big play guys on both sides of the ball that were present in previous seasons, especially on offense.  I can see us winning a playoff game or two which would be great for the younger guys to build on.  However, we don't have the horses to compete nationally as in years past to match Mount Union or I would say even Whitewater.  It will be interesting to see the brackets.

Good luck to the Johnnies. I only wish we had the firepower to get in the playoffs this year. I'm hoping for another rematch with the Johnnies....SOMEDAY!  :D

Pat is looking dis-interested in the DII selection.

Redtooth

Do you blame him....this is boring.  Did you notice the large (sarcasm) crowds during the DII highlights?

sju56321

Yea, thought the same thing-one had seats covered with a banner-not enough fans.

Redtooth

Unbelieveable brackets.......no WW.  SJU with a home game ;D ;D ;D ;D

Mount moved to the East....WW to the North.  Central #1 in the bracket

SJU09

WOW, the NCAA went crazy this year.  SJU could win this bracket!

UNREAL-I sat there watching wondering what was going on.
SJU win a home game? WOW.
More improtant-Bethel with Concordia of Wis and then Norberts/uw-ec, we could be looking at a SJU-Bethel region final
