Bad news Johnnie Faithful.  >:(  The price of hops has tripled in the last 2 months. Predictions are that the price of our favorite bevy will increase significantly  :-\

Time to go long on Hamm's futures, stock up the garage.  ;)

Veek- I am bringing 40 Polish, same as for the UST game, but no smoked this time.

In order to help Pat and his playoff predictions, here is what SJU's blurb should read:

SJU will go as far as their QB can take them, if he is on, then the semi-finals are realistic, if not, a first round loss would not be stunning.

Wow. You have pretty much channeled what I've already written for St. John's.

Fourteen capsules down, 18 to go.

I will be bringing along some pork patties from Ruck's meat market in Belle Plaine as an extra culinary delight for the Stiftungsfestivities.

Veek

I've made an executive decision this week to leave the wild rice sausages at home and double the amount of Chicago polish sausages that Zip will be delivering.  They make take 20 minutes to grill but they are well worth it.  If you don't get one this Saturday it will be your own damn fault.

GO JOHNNIES!!!

Touchdown Tommy

Dear Veek,

When did you get put in charge of "Executive Decisions"?  Has the Mayor bestowed these sorts of important decisions upon you in his absence?  The President would like to kindly request that you bring at least a dozen wild rice brats.  I've been in contact with the Polish King of Chicago and he will be bringing about a dozen italian sausages this week for a little variety.  Thank you for your understanding.

Sorry TDT, but I must issue an executive order here and let the suasage-meister himself call the shots. Veek has toiled away countless hours over the hot grill to feed us his awesome brats, so we should allow his "polish and grandeur"   ;) to rule the grill.

Sounds like the Prez has been overruled.   ;D

A cross-post of some statistics from JohnnieFootball.com:

Anyone who frequents this board knows that I'm the world's biggest Alex Kofoed Fanboy.  As such, I have a spreadsheet containing everything he's done since he stepped foot on Collegeville turf four and a half years ago.  That made it really easy to compare his home and away performances.  The highlights:

For his career, his passing yards are nearly identical: 5,076 at home, 5,105 on the road.  Of course, he has had a lot more playing time on the road--and almost 100 more pass attempts.  The real telling stats:

18:2 TD to INT ratio this year at home, 52:20 for his career, vs.
9:8 TD to INT ratio this year on the road, 39:28 for his career.

9.44 yards per pass attempt at home this year, 9.15 for his career, vs.
6.52 yards per pass attempt on the road this year, 7.05 for his career.

That's pretty damn dramatic and shows that it's not a one year thing.  If Kofoed makes one more play on the road last year against UW-Whitewater, who knows where the team ends up.  If he makes one more plan on the road on Saturday against Bethel, we wouldn't be worried about what he will potentially look like on the road this year if the Johnnies make a run.

Sounds harsh, but I doubt that changes will be made with only the travelling SJU hordes in mind.  Not that we don't look forward to your visits ;).  If there are also overflow crowds for the playoff games (FIGHT FIGHT WIN!), that will make the need for expansion more obvious.  The decorative horticulture idea is nice, but a set-up similar to what UWEC has would be the more likely solution with the cliff at the east end being the limiting factor.

Why not just bring in temporary aluminum bleachers that are useful for seating instead of those three-level standing things that were pushed so far back against the fence that I saw about a dozen people using them? When ya'll came to SJU for 409, we set up the end zone bleachers for the first time and had two sets of extras on each side of the visitor's section—something they've yet to repeat. I can guarantee you that if there's a rematch on Dec 1, the crowd will be even larger than this past weekend.

Yes, I know you've got absolutely no say in this, I'm just venting toward the nearest BU supporter ;)

Seating for the 409 game was extremely similar to the way Bethel did it this week.  At the 409 game SJU put up endzone stands for their fans and the extra visiting stand were very small.  The main visiting stands are the same size as Bethel's.  The major difference is SJU have the good fortune of a natural bowl.  Just imagine if that game had been played at Hamline or Olaf...

That's the understatement of the year.  You are to Kofoed what The Prophet was to Elliot.

And I do have too much time on my hands and, as such, I reviewed the audio from the 2002 game, so guy name Bielat made a few tackles, go figure. And SJU does not need a Denne like performance on Saturday. But TC there is a guy who had more interesting games than Kofoed, in his career.

Hey Johnnie fans!

Can someone compare the 02 Johnnie team to this years team?  Who do you think was better and why?

It seems that the 02 team may have been more explosive....true?

Thanks !
