IF YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT BASEBALL OR THE TWINS (OR MY SELF-IMPORTANT OPINIONS ON EITHER) PLEASE SKIP THIS POST

Rather than writing out my thoughts on the trade for Mr.Shoes and Mr.Shoes alone, I figure I might as well put them here since the subject has been brought up.  Let Shoes get them secondhand, I say.

Thanks, TC. After reading AG's doom-n-gloom take on it, your more balanced look was nice. I appreciate it.
Nice day, huh?

This should bring a little Holiday Cheer to MIACPP.  KS finds number 7 especially interesting from a medical standpoint.  KS thinks KR will definitely need to examine and report his findings.

A UST alum who was down on his luck decided to kidnap a child and hold him for ransom.

He went to the playground, grabbed a kid, took him behind a tree and told him, "I've kidnapped you."  The Tommy then wrote a note saying "I've kidnapped your kid. Tomorrow morning, put $10,000 in a paper bag and put it beneath the pecan tree next to the slide on the north side of the city playground. Signed, A UST Alum."

He then pinned the note to the kid's shirt and sent him home to show it to his parents.

The next morning the Tommy checked, and sure enough a paper bag was sitting beneath that pecan tree. He opened up the bag and found the $10,000.  There was also a note. The note said, "How could one UST alum do this to another?"

I just had a thought, if the Yankees are still after Santana, they need to do what  the marlins did when they traded Beckett to the Sox.  If they are going to send Kennedy or Hughes (I would not trade Hughes if I was the yanks) and Cabrera (who I would also like to keep) and a mid level pitching prospect I would make them take Mussina also.  The Yanks could pay half his salary for the twins but please, please take him from us.

Here is a topic to discuss.   The NFL Network.  I thinks it is a great channel, lots of great inside info on what is going on around the league year round.  However, it isn't on the cable network and when they televise games most of the country doesn't see them.  I feel it is a loss for football fans in that way.  I would love to see the GB vs DAL game but since I don't have Dish I can't see one of the best games in the NFC this season, and that is bullsh!t.  I guess I'll have to settle for highlights on SC.  I'm picking the Pack over the Boys 24-20.

On another note, I'm wishing the Royals luck weekend, eventhough its killing to say it.  As much as some of us don't like to admit it, they are part of the MIAC and for that reason I wish them the best, but they are still on top of my **** list among MIAC teams.

And finally, my Chuck Norris joke of the day:

Chuck Norris beat the sun in a staring contest........twice!!

I think the NFL network has its purpose...CC backer surely you live somewhere where a bar has a dish and gets the channel, go tip a few back, order some wings and enjoy the festivities...by the way I love your pick...but I think it will be 31-28 with Mason Crosby splitting the uprights at the gun...

On the support Bethel-don't support Bethel issue...everyone is entitled to their opinion, as I have said a few times, I have met and like Steve Johnson, I sense he respects the J's and enjoys the games with them...so on one hand GO MIAC...but on the other as I have stated reading the drivel on the board from some posters leads me to support Central...the winner is most likely playing their second to last game of the season anyway, but here is the thing, neither has played MUC, they have only heard of MUC and seen the scores...the J's in 2000 were like that...some players told me they thought they were going to get killed and were just going to go out and play hard, and they did and they were only a few untimely plays away from a victory.  You never know what will happen in a one and done scenerio that is the beauty of the NCAA playoffs

I know this won't make me happy with Bethel posters...but I see the multi-dimensional Dutch winning 28-14...to win at this stage in the playoffs you need to be able to run and throw and Bethel struggles with the passing game...I also think the Central D is very quick, maybe even quicker than the J's...Bethel has the best O line that I have seen this year play the J's(I still like SJU's better, but Bethel was the best opponent), and if they take over and keep Connell on the sidelines....it might change things, however if they can't create long drives, I give the edge to Central, their O line blocks well enough to give Connell time to find receivers and we know that the Royals pass D has been a weakness this year...

AO

Kare 11 posted some interviews with Dahlman, Carr and Johnson on their site.  Looks like they're practicing on the fieldturf at Mounds View as Central must have the fake stuff too.

RE: NFL Network, Cowboys-Packers.

Go to channelsurfing.net

They're showing it tonight, on internet explorer. I've watched several sporting events on there this year that aren't on what you'd usually get to see. It works perfectly, though it seems to be maybe a play behind the live action. It says it's showing the Pack-Cowboys game tonight.

**Winter Storm Watch Saturday Morning Through Sat. Night for much of Iowa**

I just went to weather.com and this is the forecast for Iowa, including Pella on Saturday:

CONDITIONS WILL DETERIORATE RAPIDLY SATURDAY MORNING AS SNOW SPREADS FROM SOUTHWEST TO NORTHEAST ACROSS THE STATE. OVER THE SOUTHWEST HALF OF IOWA...THE SNOW WILL NOT LAST LONG AND QUICKLY TRANSITION TO FREEZING RAIN OR SLEET BEFORE TEMPERATURES RISE ABOVE FREEZING LATER IN THE AFTERNOON. HOWEVER UNTIL THAT TIME SIGNIFICANT ICING AND SLEET MAY OCCUR WITH TWO TO FOUR TENTHS OF ICE ACCUMULATION POSSIBLE.

Anyone ever remember a football game in a winter storm?

As a trained groinacologist, allow me to report in my cousin KR's absence. Those are certainly some interesting specimens, but my trained eye tells me they are in need of a little service. Is this from where we get the holiday expression "ho, ho, ho" ?

Be careful how you use the "ho, ho, ho" line.  In this day and age of political correctness, Santa Claus is public enemy #1

I don't know if this has already been part of the Chuck Norris discussion on this board, but thought that everyone should realize that Chuck Norris is Mike Huckabee's weapon to secure our borders...

Back a long time ago during Bush I in the early 90's KS was laid off from his machinist job.  KS worked as a mall Santa to stretch out his unemployment benefits and was told not to use HO HO HO with small children as it could scare them.  KS did not listen, KS did a nice loud and jolly HO HO HO with a girl toddler, KS was greeted by a piercing scream and a wet leg as the toddler was scared ishless.  KS did not HO HO HO for any little children after that, College girls, that was a different story.

Bloody Sydney-siders.  Always trying to ruin everything.  The Hip-Hop culture doesn't even exist in Oz, really.

This is why if you're planning a trip to Oz, you should go to far north Queensland and enjoy the tropics and then go south to Melbourne to enjoy a great city.  Buy a postcard of the Sydney Opera House at the airport.

Better move it to the UniDome.  They still have that thing down there?
