OzJohnnie, when would be a good time to make the trip to Australia to see my daughter? Early March or May? She is flying out on Valentine's Day.

She'll be a Sydney-sider if I remember correctly.  May is getting into winter so your chances of rain are greater.  You'll have a better chance of perfect weather in March.

But to answer your question directly: A good time to visit your daughter is any time you miss her.  :)

Quote from: tmerton on December 21, 2007, 11:25:12 AMThere is little wonder that Arbor Day originated in Nebraska - and yet one can still drive what seems like hours without seeing more than a handful of trees.

Reminds me of the old joke:

Q: Why are there so many trees in France?

A: The Germans liked to march in the shade.

;D

Ha!  There's nothing I like better than Surrender Monkey jokes.

Q: Do frogs have ears and how do you know?

A: They must.  How else would they know what their German overlords want for breakfast?

French military rifles for sale. Never fired, dropped once.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

OZ, I found the Surrender Monkey of which you speak.

Complete with a beret and some French cheese.

That's a pretty good looking monkey.  I might want to adopt that monkey as my avatar.

Ha!  Belly laugh on that one.  I found a few quotes in "Soldier of Surrender" magazine, the official magazine of the French military:

"I would rather have a German division in front of me than a French one behind me." --- General George S. Patton

"It's no surprise the French won't help us get Saddam Hussein out of Iraq.  They didn't help us get Germany out of France, either.  Still, it's essential for them to join us in the war against Iraq.  They can teach the Iraqis how to surrender." --- Jay Leno

Q: What's the motto of the US Marine Corps?
A: Semper Fi
Q: What's the motto of the French Army?
A: Stop, drop, and run!

I have to stop by the office because I was too lazy to file a couple expenses on Friday (choose to drink beer instead - whatever).

I'm justifying it since I just thought of another small present to get the wife so I'll use it as an excuse to swing by the city and pick it up.

In the past I have had to work the whole day on Christmas Eve. Once I even staffed the office by myself for the last few hours so that the support staff could go home early. This year the office is closed the entire day!! I thought about taking the 26th off to go shopping, but then I came to my senses! ;)

What did I ever do to you?  Nice how you judge a guy before you meet him...your acting like those other WIAC haters...thought you were different flash...dissapointing...[/font]
VOJ I think you might be displaying what irritates JVF.  Why does someone have to meet someone to judge them?  I've never met George Bush, but I think he is the worst president in my lifetime (JC a close second).  I've never met Gags, but admire him greatly.  Both of these people have expressed themselves in public often enough for me to get a good impression of how they conduct themselves.  Those of us using this board frequently are also displaying ourselves.  And, a bit of irony here; aren't you counter-judging under the same pretenses?  And, since it's Christmas I gave you a +k anyway.

U might be right...there are some guys here that are not my favorite either...
