John Gagliardi was named D3 coach of the year in the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year contest today.  John gets $50,000 for civic and philanthropic endeavors and SJU gets $20,000 for scholarships.

Congratulations to John and the rest of the staff......well deserved honor.

Congrats to Coach for this honor.  Well deserved!  Happy New Year to all the MIAC PP.  Even you TDT.

The Fins' Casa d'ice has resumed its rightful place on Pearl Lake as of yesterday. The season will begin in earnest tomorrow. In the meantime, it's prime rib, fantail shrimp, and all you can drink for $30 at the Eagle's tonight, plus a free cab ride home.  8)

Enjoy your revelries, all.  I'm off to the sister-in-law's house to enjoy a New Year's Day bbq and swim in the pool (it's a tough life, but someone has to live it 8)).

Normally on NYD, we go to the family day at Flemington Racetrack (home of the Melbourne Cup, the race that stops a nation) where there are pony rides (not to mention pony betting), a few carnival rides, face painting, etc.  Today has broken 100, though, so it's too dang hot.  Ergo, the good old Aussie fall-back: snags on the barbie.
