Game ends 3-2, but I almost saw 2 pulled goalie goals in a minute and a half by the same team.   :o

If only they could find a way to change the rules to allow them 6 skaters all the time! ;) Last night I watched the Blue Jackets lose 6-1 and then switched over to see the Flames lose 3-1 then I cried myself to sleep...okay, not really, but what a dismal night for my teams! :'(
High sticking, tripping, slashing, spearing, charging, hooking, fighting, unsportsmanlike conduct, interference, roughing... everything else is just figure skating.  ~Author Unknown

You missed the Avs (sans Sakic, Smyth et al.) lose to the hated Wings 1-0. Hasek & Chelios are a little long in the tooth but still doing well - GRRRRR >:(
+k to you anyway :D

Giraffe joke week?  :D

Went to the Menomonie-Chippewa Falls hockey game last night.

Home squad up 2-1 with 1:30 to go Chi-Hi pulls their goalie.

It works, they score. 2-2

Menomonie goes back on a rush and scores with about :45 remaining. 3-2.

Chi-Hi pulls their goalie again and it's a mad rush at the net, pelting the MHS goalie who is standing on his ear.

Game ends 3-2, but I almost saw 2 pulled goalie goals in a minute and a half by the same team.   :o

Forgot the website to sign up for the Red Tie event...

Interesting list of registrants ... JJR is going (plus they're auctioning off a gift certificate for ten pounds of Stiftungsfest hamburger!) but the Mayor and President haven't signed up yet - must be the J-Club's failure to list Hamms as the Gala's official beer.  And it's odd to see our neighbors from down the street are attending; didn't realize they had a connection to SJU (there couldn't possibly be two couples in the world named Dean and Kathy Taylor, could there? :)

Elsewhere on the ice...

After going winless last season, my broomball team started the 2008 season off right with a 2-0 season opening win last evening.

You got it right. I went to school in the old building and it was called McDonell Memorial High School. Since then they built a new one and it is called McDonell Central (I think). There was no love lost between us and the public school. It was a great school then - can't say what it's like now but probably pretty good.  :'(

As much fun as it sounds, I had previously committed to go to the .pdf]Park Rapids Ice Fishing Extravaganza that weekend. There most certainly will be Hamm's served there.  :)

Went out to check on the shanty last night. Some punks hit mine and several others the night before.  :'( Broken glass in the door window and a few things missing.

I was so depressed I called Lifeline. Got a call center in Pakistan .
I told them I was suicidal.
They got all excited and asked if I could drive a truck.

Johnnie Red

Finsleft, skip the Park Rapids Ice Fishing Extravaganza that weekend and make it up to the EelPout Festival the following weekend. Probably more beer and pout to consume at the latter event. ;)

Actually, I was considering cramming both into my incredibly busy social calendar.  ;)
Maybe Judge Earl the Pearl can show me the pout hotspots. :D

Edit:
The 2008 Poutfest is 2 weeks after Park Rapids, so there'll be plenty of time for the brain and liver cells to regroup. 8)

A police officer is waiting at a red light. While there, he notices quite a din coming from the trunk of a car in front of him. He approaches the driver of said car and instructs him to get out of the vehicle and open the trunk. The driver complies, and in the trunk are a dozen giraffes.

The police officer says, "Take these giraffes to the zoo immediately!"

The driver replies, "Right away officer!" and drives off.

The following day the cop is at the same red light, and who should be stopped in front of him but the same car with the same loud noise coming from the trunk.  The cop is really irritated now and again tells the driver to get out and open his trunk.  There are the same dozen giraffes, only this time they're all wearing sunglasses.  The policeman says, "I told you to take these giraffes to the zoo!", to which the driver replies, "But officer, I did...today they want to go to the beach!"
