We'll see. I would now bet that UST wins a conference title before Mac gets back into the MIAC for football, however.

UST should have been winning at least 2-3 conference titles since their last one, given their resources and base.  Caruso will do a fine job, no question about that-- but can he beat the Johnnies?

I heard an unsubstantiated and unverified rumor that a Johnnie assistant coach was offered the top job at UST before the finalists were announced.  Three guesses and one hint: the name I heard wasn't Gagliardi.  Keep in mind I have no factual base to this-- and given my source I have reason to believe much of it could be Johnnie propaganda.

So two new questions come up:
1.)  Will Caruso bring his MAC assistants down Summit Ave with him?  Or will he keep much of the UST staff?
2.) What of the MAC job now?  I know someone who could be very good in that position-- if he were even interested.  And his last name runs pretty well in MIAC and Big 10 circles.

I will be so bold to predict that UST will win a MIAC Championship before SJU does...

Probably, but not for football.

Caruso is bringing two assistants from MAC.  He will likely keep Bishop as D coordinator.

Tony Jennison, D-Coordinator, is the interim coach at MAC.

MAC and UST opening in the first game next year is a great story line.

Jennison is a very good guy with a pretty underrated resume.  He's been a part of some good teams, both as a player and a coach.  Will MAC hire yet this winter?

So which MIAC school will be first to put in a "Duck" style treatment center? 8)

That Nike money gets put to good use in Corvallis - er, Eugene - eh, bennie?

One thing that is obvious is that Nike isn't putting any money into my office! No juice bar, no waterfall, but we did get our carpets cleaned last night!! ;D

As long as the MIAC doesn't get the 'Duck' uniform designer.  ::)

no its a bloodletting waiting to happen...just like any other time MAC has played an MIAC team regardless of who it is since they left the league...OAS your crazy to think there is a "storyline" there other than Caruso left a program that can barely compete in the UMAC for one that, year in year out should be a top 4 team in the MIAC...

How will this shake up recruiting for other MIAC schools? Will kids who may have been leaning toward Bethel or SJU and knew they may not see the field for 2 or 3 years, now look at UST differently and throw UST into the mix with the chance to be part of something that may change the power base of the league?
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Last night during the Kings/Ducks game, the announcers invited none other than Tommy Lasorda to join them...for the entire second period!  I learned how he was there when Jacques Plante came up with the idea for the goalie mask (and no doubt was the inspiration), how Montreal loves him so much they have Tommy Lasorda Day every year, and how when he played for the Montreal Royals, one of their trainers that had worked with the Canadiens said that he was the only player on his team feisty enough to have been a hockey player. I am sure I would have heard many more stories if I hadn't decided to change the channel until the third period! Cameras, microphones, three men and that much self-love/ass kissing, one would have thought that they were filming something entirely different than a hockey game! 8)

No, this is still a storyline -- coach facing his old team in the first game with a new program. Just because neither team is in the Top 25 doesn't mean the game is a storyline, VOJ. You gotta be kidding me.

Doesn't mean the game isn't a storyline, of course, I should've said. Doesn't have to be competitive to be interesting.
