OB is sort of the unofficial SCIAC/d3football curmudgeon, and he has a very bad day if he sees a balloon he can't let the air out of.  Unless it's orange and black.

+k for the weekend, folks.  Stay warm and dry.
Amen. +k for everybody for a great weekend :)
Wow - had to go back a few pages to catch BDB & JJR
BDB - you must be hibernating - tough winter in WI, at least that's what my sister in Titletown says.  :o

Unlike the New York Times, at least Snopes sources it's stories. I find it believable, because it seems to employ people who are interested in truth, not circulation, and doesn't appear to have an agenda (other than truth) Any questions?

This is kind of like John Madden being declared the unofficial "best announcer" in football despite an obvious lack of talent, insight or originality. BOOM! Tough actin tinactin!

I kind of miss John's All Madden team. I can remember when there was an actual show about his selections. For some reason I have the image of an RV in my head, but I am not quite sure why... ???

Also, whatever happened to some of those fun NFL spoof shows that ESPN use to do. At least I think it was ESPN. I can remember one that was answering the question "Who is the worst tackler, kickers or quarterbacks?" It had clips/interview and defensive players making fun of their teammates. Ah...the good old days! ;)

ROR - I hear you use Craig's List. I hope your ticket selling isn't just a front for, uh, meeting ladies on there.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Thanks for the compliment. I like how that makes me sound.

I don't think it is possible to live in all that SCIAC sunshine and be a curmudgeon. 8)  But the air in the local balloons are filled with smog. :'(

When your computer thaws out, the screen will probably be dirty.

::)

Snopes, though, is a great resource. Especially when I get a panicky email from someone saying something like there's an Asian country serving children as food or a crazy friend forwards a message expressing outrage that Starbucks hates the troops and refuses to give them tasty, overpriced coffee.

One thing Snopes has done recently that I really don't like >:( is that you can no longer block and copy text from the write-ups on their website.  Some of their write-ups are lengthy and while I always send the link when I'm pointing out to someone that they're perpetuating urban legend (as OB did for me), their new cloaking device is really irritating when I'm trying to get just the right language from the write-up.

Was anyone here aware the the Catholic Church has moved St Patrick's day this year to the 15th of March due to the 17th falling during Holy Week?  It's true, Snopes it if you want.   ;D
Everyday is payday in paradise.

Big parade here tonight (the largest Chinese New Year's parade outside of Asia) celebrating the Year of the Rat

This portends well for SJU this coming season! :)  (Unfortunately, it portends less well for the the parade as a huge rainstorm is moving in today. :P)

Two years in a row for S.P. day on a Saturday. My liver is screaming in protest.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.
