Andrew Symonds, the Aussie cricketer that shouldered the streaker the other day, is waiting to see if he faces assault charges for nailing the streaking idiot.

If he does, all of the people in attendance should sue the streaking idiot for exposing them to his bits and pieces. Definitely some emotional damages inflicted there! 8)

Speaking of bits and pieces, the news footage in Oz, or at least the footage on the late night Sports Tonight show, ran without the fuzzy circle.  Although not a full-on Man Power dance routine, I was confronted with a little franks and beans.  Needless to say, I didn't expect that.

After a tough day with nothing but one problem after another, leave it to Post Patterns to give me a chuckle.

I go over to the WIAC Men's Basketball page to find a poll.

"Who are you rooting for in the NCAA Tournament?"

- Whitewater
- Stevens Point
- Both
- Neither

Neither is in 2nd place.  :D

Play with Passion  Coach Ron Schipper

A young man and a priest are playing golf together. At a short par-3 the priest asks, "What are you going to use on this hole, my son?"

The young man says, "An 8-iron, Father. How about you?"

The priest says, "I'm going to hit a soft seven and pray."

The young man hits his 8-iron and puts the ball on the green.

The priest tops his 7-iron and dribbles the ball out a few yards.

The young man says, "I don't know about you, Father, but in my church when we pray, we keep our head down."

Gotta love that story line:

Drought Breaks!  Cafe owners, Korean tour managers, surfers and (formerly greedy) insurance industry hardest hit.  (Newly) Greedy farmers enjoy record rains and the prospects of making some money.

A story (who guessed I had one for this?):

In the pre-kids years, when the wife was still a practicing solicitor, we had a dinner party where we invited three other couples over - all married and all friends of my wife from law school.  So, seven lawyers of one bent or another and me.  I swear that during the actual meal, I spoke only once.

The conversation, as it inevitably had to, led to a go-around-the-table discussion of what exciting law stuff was going on.  There were the corporate guys doing a merger or whatever;  The government guys enforcing the jackboots of regulation;  The freshly capped barrister talking about her first appearances in the big-time courts.  And then it came to my wife, the family lawyer, who related a divorce she was working on where the couple had $240k in assets and had blown $220k between them fighting over what was there.  All heads shook in unison and someone pointed out that, "No one wins in a divorce."

And my one comment for the evening? "Except for the lawyers."  Thank you very much!  Yes, I know it was a cheap shot, but it was there for the taking.  Who could resist?

+K to OzJohnny, my pappy always told me to take the cheap shot, you never know when you get another.

Can somebody tell me where the weight room is?
Stick with the 12 oz. weights, Frank.

Long time, no post. What's new?

No internet = not much posting time...and I go through withdrawls which I fill with 24 oz of Schlitz High Gravity Lager.

I moved out to Red Wing in December where I am suckering people into buying furniture from me at Slumberland.  So, if any of you are in need of a deal on furniture, holla at your boy.

First Brett retires, now Patrick Swayze is dying, what a brutal two day stretch.

I'll ask a football question.  Can't see the Johnnies going anywhere without a good QB.  So, who is the good QB going to be out of this bunch?  I count ten underclass QB's on last years roster, 9 of which are Freshmen or Sophomores.

As things currently stand, I would imagine that Joe Boyle, Jordan Hansel and Michael Crees all have designs on the starting QB job, and I think each has the potential to develop into a very decent player.  Whether this is a step forward or a step back for the Johnnies is entirely dependent on what you think of the work done by Alex Kofoed.

I think I like the sounds of "Boyle/Hansel/Crees/???" more than the "Vertin/Ruff/Royce-Diop/???" situation at the start of the 2004 season.  Of coure, in 2004 "? ? ?" became Alex Kofoed three and a half quarters into the season.  Who knows what hidden gems the Johnnies will have on the roster next year.

Ugh... Edited to get rid of a stupid emoticon.

Of the bunch, Joe Boyle is by far the best field general in the group however TC is correct... look for a wild card to enter the fray next fall and challenge.

Patrick Swayze speaking through Whoopi Goldberg... I think they called it "Ghost".

Developing....
