How about them AVS? I think I told you  -- Davy Jones came out of the locker.  ;)

Yes you did! ;D I will admit that I watched some of the Avs game but then switched when I saw that they had the Oilers well in hand.  I probably should have stuck with that game. The Canuck (and the Red Wing) announcers make me so mad with their backhanded "compliments" to the opposing team.
Avs still have problems with Foppa, Foote & Smyth not skating. Hope they aren't saving them for the playoffs since it looks like a 4 point swing could drop a team from 3rd to 9th  -- well almost.
Exciting - whatever :P

Been off the board for a while, but sneaking in at work to read.  K for the usual suspects on the past three pages.  Keep the jokes and entertainment coming!!
Everyday is payday in paradise.

Don't say I didn't warn you about some of the horrible announce teams. The Wings, which you would think should be good, are such homers, as are most of the Canadian broadcast guys toward the "Home" teams. I may be biased, but I am a fan of both the Caps and Wild crews, and surprisingly, some of the announcers from non-traditional hockey hotbeds, such as Tampa, Dallas, Los Angeles, and even the Canes.

snoop dawg

tmerton.....dont get me wrong, Im not bashing, just saying that frequently, I've personally experienced rudeness in some of those establishments.

Let me tell you about the Italians........(hope my wife doesn't read this) ;)

You did warn me!! I think it also makes a difference as to how historically successful the team is. If your team sucks, you can only be so snobby. For example, I think the Blue Jacket announce team is quite gracious. ;) I have learned that if it is a CBC or Rogers Sportsnet broadcast that I should be prepared to be annoyed.  8)

Thanks for the suggestions on NYC.  I arrive from Annapolis on April 3 an leave early April 5.  It is not real long.  The main reason I am going is to briefly visit some friends and go to Yankee Stadium.  I was looking at the Yankee Clipper, but I don't think it will work with my desire to see Monument Park.

I have heard from quite a few people that none of the current staff members were being considered for the position.  I just hope Olaf goes for the best candidate and not the politically correct candidate.

Price paid for a gallon of gas this morning - $3.24
Price paid for my frozen Lean Cuisine at lunch - $2.00 (5/$10 at Rainbow last Saturday)
Price paid for a large Caribou coffee to drink with lunch - $1.92
Logging in just to smite Ole Fan - priceless. ;D

We've got our last day of hockey tomorrow. All day tomorrow.

Until middle April, anyway.  ;D

That's a good enough reason for a banquet of +k all around.

Plus, BDB's post #2000 is coming up next week sometime. Stay tuned!   ;)

I wish the board masters would base the karma restriction on once per day instead of 24hrs apart.  Reset it at midnight instead of after 24 hrs elapse. :-*

Little Clark was doing very badly in math. His parents had tried everything... tutors, mentors, flash cards, special learning centers. In short, everything they could think of to help his math.
Finally, in a last ditch effort, they took Clark down and enrolled him in the local Catholic school. After the first day, little Clark came home with a very serious look on his face. He didn't even kiss his mother hello.  Instead, he went straight to his room and started studying. Books and papers were spread out all over the room and little Clark was hard at work. His mother was amazed. She called him down to dinner. To her shock, the minute he was done, he marched back to his room without a word, and in no time, he was back hitting the books as hard as before. This went on for some time, day after day, while the mother tried to understand what made all the difference. Finally, little Clark brought home his report card. He quietly laid it on the table, went up to his room and hit the books. With great trepidation, his mom looked at it and to her great surprise, little Clark got an 'A' in math. She could no longer hold her curiosity.
She went to his room and said, 'Son, what was it? Was it the nuns?' Little Clark looked at her and shook his head, no. 'Well, then,' she replied, was it the books, the discipline, the structure, the uniforms? 'WHAT WAS IT ALREADY?'

Little Clark looked at her and said, 'Well, on the first day of school when I saw that guy nailed to the plus sign, I knew they weren't fooling around.'

Very much like my first experience of Catholic school after years in public school.  Thanks for the memories, Fins. ;)

I haven't been able to figure out what makes this babe worth $4,500/hr.  Now if it was Lisa, it would be obvious.
