What has ever happened to the head coach of my Ole's?  Is St.O going to continue the God Squad or go for Secularization?  Let me hear from you alums !!!!

Most people around the athletic department seemed to hint that the decision would be made by the middle of March.  The position is still posted on the website.  Right now St. Olaf is on spring break.  I am a little worried about not having a coach yet.

Well, let me just say that not having a coach at STO would suck, even from a Johnnie perspective.  If STO takes a huge step backwards from this it would kill what was growing into a great source of Johnnie joy.  And the perverse joy of knowing we were right about someone when he delivered, in effect, a meidty big finger on the way out the door by leaving a program in the lurch is a sore consolation.

I'm hoping you're able to find someone and keep the program from falling apart for the next few years.

Yes, yes, I know many of you don't care.  But it's the off-season and what the hell else is there to do?  Ignore the vids if you're tired of them, but these are pretty good:

AFL - The Best Bits.

The Hawks sending a bunch of those pansy Bombers off the field bleeding and crying after a bit of biffo.

Last night I watched the Caps win (whoohoo!) and the Columbus/Nashville game. Those Nashville announcers are horrible. I don't know which was worse, them trying to make Jordan Tootoo sound like he is just hardworking little choirboy (as opposed to the dirty player he really is) or the way the broadcast was "Hockey for Really Dumb Dummies".

"When we say there are five skaters on the ice, that doesn't include the goalie...but that doesn't mean that the goalie doesn't know how to skate."

Just shoot me now! I know that Nashville is not a hockey hotbed and they might need to explain some things to the new fans, but good Lord!! ::)

I am looking forward to the Avs schooling the Canucks tonight!! ;D

So what do you guys think of Tiger's little outburst /  Personally I would like to see him do it
Definately bad form on the part of the photographer and the many others who have done it.

But at this point why doesn't he just condition himself to ignore it.  He's a perfectionist in every other part of his game.  Maybe part of his practice routine could be to have someone sit there and periodically snap a camera while he was in various stages of his swing.

As my wife can attest to, you can train yourself to ignore almost anything if you work hard enough at it.

The White Silly

Snoop, I'm with you on Tiger's outburst.  I'm a big fan of Tiger already and after hearing that, he jumped up even higher in my book.  I always cherish a good violent outburst.  Plus, it was completely relatable to anyone who has played the game of golf.  I'm glad I haven't been miked up during some of my rounds.

Why do fans have to be quiet at Golf and Tennis events?

You don't see Basketball fans sitting on their hands silently watching while a player takes a free throw.

I agree with SB71, Tiger should train himself to ignore it.  Like Billy Chapel in "For Love of the Game":

Random Thoughts.

I like Tiger, and anyone who rids the world of media types is OK in my book. But it's also annoying at how the media types are so far up Tiger's A$$, that all other golfers get short shrift.

Those who don't play golf (well), have no clue about distraction. If you could replicate the white noise type of din that is at other sporting events, I'm sure golfers could learn to adapt. It's the unexpected outburst that kills.

bennie. - The Nashville announcers are not great, but are hardly the bottom of the barrel. The announcer looks like an aged porn star, and the color guy is Terry Crisp, who played for the Philadelphia Flyers when they were the Broad Street Bullies, so his sanity, and voice quality is understandable. You certainly called the Avs/Canucks game.  Am I just biased, or are Joe B and Craig "The Locker" Laughlin one of the best teams out there? They try to call them as they see them, without too much cheering for the home team, are entertaining and informative. All came out during the review of the second Hurricane goal. And are the Caps the unluckiest team in the NHL or what? Two goals against, neither coming off a 'Cane stick, and one took a 5 minute review, and what about the "Roughing" penalty on Ovechkin. I think he hits himself harder on the boards in his goal celebrations. What a joke.

In addition to the media, who else would you be rid of in your world retagent?  And what would be your method of get riddance?  I try to take your posts in stride, but you come across as a very mean person sometimes.

Son of BDB and I are attending the Youth Hockey Awards Banquet tonight.

Usually lasts forever.  :P

Since the only thing to eat there are some cookies, I always ask why it's called a banquet. I never see any appetizers and roast duck available.

Maybe I'll bring a few cases of Coors, the Banquet Beer.   ;D

ROR,
Best wishes and good thoughts.

Hockey folks,
Can't expect from much Southern announcers, although Jiggs McDonald and Boom Boom Geffrion were a great team with the old Atlanta Flames. In the first home game, the opposing team tried to ice the puck, it went on net and the keeper got a standing O.

On Tiger:
If it was a professional photographer, they know the rules.  Woods -- or any pro -- ought to insert the club to the hosel ... the long way.

How about this new fishing technique?
What's next, teaching them to coat themselves in batter and hop inside a fryer?

Fins, I suggest they grab a Hamm's out of the fridge for us before hopping in the fryer.

That way, we won't have to get up until it's time to eat.
