How has the cougar hunting been going? I spent the better part of a half hour in surgery explaining to the OR nurses what a cougar is, made me think of you.

+K to Kilted and OZ.  This is outside Basra but to the East about 3 Km from the Iranian border.  This is a leftover from the Iran Iraq war.  Still tons of mine fields, artillery rounds, helmets, uniforms (with the bones of the former soldier still in some of them), gas masks, and rusted out tanks and weapons as far as the eye can see.

My guess is the Balkans and you were there doing NATO peacekeeping or whatnot.  Bosnia or Kosovo...?  No real mountains, which I think Bosia has more of, so I'll pick Kosovo.

After a moment he asks "Anyone got a problem with that?" The silence lengthens.

Don't recognize the first pic, but the 2nd one is definitely either West Virginia or Lesotho.
