An interesting article: The Door to Hell is in Uzbekistan Turkmenistan.

Thanks for the link.

Those images remind me of the concepts that astronomer and geo-scientist Thomas Gold proposed in his book, Deep Hot Biosphere.

Well, it looks like while I was gone, the president cleverly lured the board into a lively discussion of golf.

As will you, as soon as the "Dr." goes up ahead of the KR.  You'll learn to love the game if you don't already.

Congratulations.  What states are willing to license you? ::) ;D

As much as I hate to bring up football, I was looking at the Jay's schedule and trying to figure out which games fall into the "can't miss" category (and wow, has air travel gone up!).

Of course, there's Opening Day on the 6th, which comes two hours early but can't be missed anyway.  But what say you of the others?  I'm figuring that games at UST and Bethel will be big, and the Oles of course - and Carleton may be a trap game.  For home games, what of RF, Cobbers, Gusties .. and ?

The really big games all look to be on the road.

Sept. 6 East Texas Baptist
Sept. 13 Wis.-River Falls
Sept. 20 Concordia-Moorhead
Sept. 27 Gustavus Adolphus (Homecoming)
Oct. 4 at Bethel - Arden Hills
Oct. 11 Hamline (Family Weekend)
Oct. 18 at St. Thomas - St. Paul
Oct. 25 at St. Olaf - Northfield
Nov. 8 Augsburg
Nov. 15 at Carleton - Northfield

Congrats KR, in four days I will be done and retired, best of luck to you in your military career and whatever follows.
Everyday is payday in paradise.

Greetings TM;

As you know, I for one applaud your attention to the sport of football.

Thanks for alerting me the season begins at 11:00am this year.  I'm guessing but has ETB fallen prey to flight scheduling just as the great TM?

Over the weekend I witnessed firsthand the presentation of the Liberty Mutual Division III coach of the year award to JG.  50,000 cool ones have been directed to the SJU general scholarship fund.

In other news, it's a number of years off however the Science Center Parking lot may go the way of an expanded Hill Monastic and Alcuin.   :(

Well, I survived my bachelor party no worse for the wear.  What I remember of it was a good time.  I woke up yesterday feeling remarkably good, only to get the sneak-attack hangover around 2PM.   :-[

DM;

Please share the weekend's sequence of events.... comparitively, as we grew past our Collegeville days the level of wackiness concerning bachelor parties declined.  You however are still well within peak experience.

Started the day off shooting some sporting clays with a few friends.  Took care of a few wedding-related tasks mid-day.  Late-afternoon consisted of grilling, drinking, and playing some games.  The debauchery then began in downtown Minneapolis where things got a bit fuzzy.  I remember being in a gentleman's club for what seemed like forever.  And I remember my soon-to-be brother in law dropping $200 on a bottle of Southern Comfort while we were there.  The rest of the evening is pretty hazy, but I woke up in my bed the next morning, which is always nice.

Fortunately in the Navy, I don't have to be licensed by any states, however I will be licensed by California to start anyway.

Stanbob,
Thanks and Congrats!

Duff,
You did wedding errands on your bachelor party day? :o

Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

Say what you will, but that crap needs to get done.

Bachelor party = one day and a few hundred bucks.
Wedding + marriage = the rest of my life and too much money to comprehend.

Understood. If mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy and that includes the lil Duff.

Closed circuit to Duff and any remaining single guys out there considering/preparing for a wedding:

Screw up your first assignment royally and she won't ask you to do anything else the rest of the preparation! This also works once you're married for cleaning, laundry, cooking, etc. If you bleach and shrink her favorite red sweater, set a towel on fire and dump boiling water on the mail, and accidentally vacuum up  the laces on a few pairs of shoes, you will have time for whatever you want for the rest of your life!

Unfortunately, I cleaned, cooked, and did laundry so well that it's a regular responsibility for me. Learn from my mistakes! If you do it right once, they'll expect it forever, if you screw it up, they'll never expect you to do it!
