Any of you baseball fans watching the College World Series?

Son of BDB and I are on board. We say Go Bulldogs!

We mean the ones from Fresno State, not Georgia.  ;D

Good for you BDB.  It seems to be working.  #2 son's friend has driven in all 6 of the Fresno State runs. ::) :o 8)

On tap was Weird Al Yankovic doing his "I Need A New Drug" tour.

The Weird Al parody of "I Want A New Drug" was "I Want A New Duck."

I saw Weird Al at the Minnesota State Fair in about 1984.  He was doing a lot of Michael Jackson parody at that time.

Veek

Fins - +k for that great picture that you posted.

I still don't quite understand it, but Buckwheat must obviously have a little pull with the port-a-pottie people as they delivered his preferred pink unit to the Stiftungsfestivities.  It was too bad that he wasn't able to make an appearance for that game, however, as I would have loved to take a picture of him in his pink sweater standing next to his pink throne.

Go Johnnies!!!

Many of you will recall that on July 8, 1947, an unidentified flying object (UFO) with five
aliens aboard crashed onto a sheep and cattle ranch just outside
Roswell, New Mexico. This is a well-known incident that many say has
long been covered up by the U.S Air Force and other federal Agencies
and organizations.

However, what you may NOT know is that in the month of March 1948,
nine months after that historic day, the following people were born:

Albert A. Gore, Jr.
Hillary Rodham
John F. Kerry
William J. Clinton
Howard Dean
Nancy Pelosi
Dianne Feinstein
Charles E. Schumer
Barbara Boxer

See what happens when aliens breed with sheep?
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Funny stuff, but like most e-mail list propaganda, almost entirely false. Only one of those people was actually born in that month. Or that year.

And besides, do you think alien/sheep gestation periods are nine months? :)

SJU grad Dold lands Macalester assistant job.

Where is everyone?  Still hung over from celebrating the Fresno State victory in the College World Series ... or pining away in anticipation of the Twinkies' visit to San Diego and KR's eventual confrontation with San Diego's finest ("Officer, I am a doctor and a Naval officer, and I would never that kind of thing - at least not in public ...")?

Looks like Mac is on their way. How did Dold land such a job, you ask?

"Dold saw the Macalester job opening listed on the diiifootball.com Web site in early May."

Sum's oldest daughter is volunteering there! She said there are so many Asian golfers there you can't keep em straight. The MAC women's golf coach qualified and is the oldest player in the field.

Veek, buddy, good to hear from you. All of the joking around about old Gordy, WOW! I'm supposed to be there tomorrow at 11, wonder if that will happen. Glad you got outta there. I heard 15 shots fired. Surprised no one hit but Gordy.
Let's do the golf soon.  2nd or 3rd week in July. Who's in?

I could be down for some golfing in July.  Mondays and Tuesdays are totally free and I might be able to wheel and deal to get a Wednesday or Friday free.
