I do realize that the French had much to do with the country that we have become.  They did help us in the fight for Independence from the British.  Have we not repaid that debt?  Why is it ok for the French to bash us?  If those stories are true what KR posted then I do not look at it as bashing the French only clearing the record.  We do owe the French for the help that was given in Revolutionary War.  WW1 And WW II were repayments for that help many times over.  I am grateful to the men and women that have protected us for these many years.  We owe them much more than we can ever repay.

The USA's largest re-enlistment ceremony was held today in Iraq:

"How are you spending your 4th of July holiday? While most Americans probably slept, 1,215 Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines raised their right hands and committed to a combined 5,500 years of additional service during the largest reenlistment ceremony in the history of the American military."

Thank you for serving, KR. This experience will make you a better man, more sensitive and wiser.

Thanks to all of you who have served. As one who has lost a family member (Navy) to war, I am eternally grateful to those who make the sacrifice to enlist.

Happy Birthady America and to all here, especially KR and the veterans among us. Though probably many of you did not serve in that way, you all serve by contributing to the ethos of out great country, and by your work, whatever it is, or was, you have made it better.

Speaking of service, I have not seen any contributions by Kubiak for a while and hope he is fine and dandy in his present circumstance.

Here's the video of that re-enlistment ceremony.  It's pretty gripping listening to that many people enthusiastically take the Oath Of Enlistment.

I must apologize, too, for the behavior of the regulars here who have a hard time taking anything seriously, and not adequately responding to your invitation to talk some pigskin. As you will soon discover, I am all about football, and welcome the opportunity to talk some game with someone, FINALLY!!
So, let's have at it, shall we? The MIAC is the best thing since sliced hamburger buns, at least as far as football goes. SJU will be on the rise and will not slip without AK. If the Tommie hype to which you refer is about them sucking, then yes, take note.
I was at the lake over the 4th, so sorry to leave you hanging while these other juveniles banter on about beer and stiffys. What are your thoughts?

While I was typing, it looked like KR beat me to the punch. My guess was also Nick Punto. I've never been as down on him as most here seem to be.
