While I was typing, it looked like KR beat me to the punch. My guess was also Nick Punto. I've never been as down on him as most here seem to be.

Oh, sure, now it's safe to jump on the bandwagon for Mr. RBI...

He's much better in an occasional role. When you play him every day, you get the .210/.291/.271 from last year or the .239/.301/.355 from 2005.  :-\

So can we assume that since Johann is batting .139 with 0 RBI and slugging .250 this season that DHing for Punto and batting Santana wouldn't have been a better alternative?
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

I think DHing Santana would only make sense when made in jest. :)

The more occasional the better......such as the 3rd game of a doubleheader when the Rochester is taking on the Spanish-American War Vets to raise money for a new flat screen TV for the recreation room at the Vet's Home :D
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Or playing every day for the White Sox. :)

Gee 105, that was pretty harsh. Seriously, since I only occasionally get to see the Twins, I always had the impression that Punto's glove in the field made his hitting prowess, or lack thereof, less important. I also remember that he was one of the original pirranhas. Is that a mistaken impression?

Nicky Punto does have a place on a MLB roster, it's just not as an everyday player.
The Twins have done wonders over the years with players like Nicky. An All-Star is something Nicky will never be.As Pat said, an occasional role suits him quite well.

I'm gone for 4 days and I drop 25 karma points without posting.  That has to be a record.

I hope everyone had a safe and fun 4th.  That is what we had planned, didn't quite turn out that way.  I had a breaker blow in the motorhome, and traveled across the very hot 110 degree desert with no a/c.  The new boat prop froze up and had to get towed.  The dealership was nearby, fixed it, and lo and behold, it happend again two days later. Towed again.  I now have more hours towed and hours used.   The 8 of us piled into my brother in-laws boat, found a sandy beach sat in the water and drank to forget.  We made the most of it and still had some fun.  Very frustrating.

I guess it could have been worse, I could have dropped 50 karma points. ;)

I agree on the Nicky comments. Better utility/bench player than everyday. Plus he's a good "clubhouse guy", the type Gardy likes to have around.
And because he likes Minnesota so much, CC Sabathia is creeping closer. He'll now be wearing a Brewers cap crooked.

snoop,

+k .  Maybe that will help make up for your troubles.  Look on the bright side.  Not being able to run the AC saved on gas. ::)

Actually GF, it didn't, the a/c for the motrohome runs off a generator while driving.  The dash a/c worked. Picture me driving, my wife in the other captains chair and five girls crowding on the floor between us trying to stay cool. What a trip.   ::)
