I'm hoping DesertCat1, TuxGuy and all other DIII Footbal Fans will be at the pregame pow-wow at the Elks Lower Sports/Blues Bar this Friday. We'd also like to invite all Cobber Fans in the area to join us. Before entering the club however, you must sign a waiver that you are not offended by any of the following: country music by Sons of the Pioneers, good food and beverage, or good conversation about the playoff game....if you're cool with the above criteria, then you are welcome to enter the magic atmosphere of the ......Mac Elks Club (with lower Sports and Blues bar...where you never tell what happens  ;D  )

Duffy - It doesn't suck at all. I'm just pissed it was going to take 40 minutes to download Real Player tonight so I couldn't listen to the GAC basketball games while I "worked." I mean, I've posted more tonight on Pat's boards than I have over the past week combined :)
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Bus - The GAC girls basketball team is stuck in Iowa with a flat on their sweet ride. What are the chances you can swing over there and pick them up? :)

Wrong again, education is where the big bucks are at.

Actually I think my income was close to the same as it is now when I was in college racking up student loans. Oh well, summers off will have to do.

I'm telling you, you are making yourself poor.  Ask for a raise.  First coach in school history to take the team to state.  And just think you coached the last four games of the year for free!  Small town football---milk 'em for all their worth.

PS  Throw a crumb to your asst. coaches as well!

Only one thing wrong with your stat show (BTW thanks for the work)...win it comes to Linfield it's quite skewed since the starters don't play much of the second half.

Veek

Mongo and Frank,

I'll bring an extra 12 if you guys promise to show up.  You have to make it to one game this year, right Mongo?

Hope to see both of you there.
Go Johnnies!!!

Willy Wonka

Veek - 12? I've heard Mongo is only capable of 1.5 these days. His string of weddings has lowered his natural ability. However, he still brings a ton of upside to the table and is capable of big things if he puts his mind to it. Great work ethic :)

Hello Cobber Fans!  Welcome to the Catdome.
No matter the outcome of Saturday's game I hope that you all enjoy your journey.  For those coming by bus...I assume that you will be traveling the Columbia Gorge route...Having traveled extensively throughout the US...it is one of the most impressive sights to be seen anywhere in the lower 48.  I also hope you take the quick trip to the Pacific Ocean.  Just those two sights alone will be worth the time, money and effort.  I also highly recommend "Roses"...one of the world's best dessert restaurants....check that....the best dessert restaurant anywhere I've been to worldwide...the "chocolate factory" has nothing on this place when it comes to great taste.

Of course the main menu at the Catdome Saturday at noon will be an excellent game I am sure.  The stadium on the McMinnville campus is one of the best...just ask some of our PLU fans ::)

As far as who is going to win...part of me knows that your Cobbers are going to be tough...if scores comparison with the SJU game means anything.  But then again I am not totally convinced that the MIAC is as tough this year as previous years...that's not a slam...just my inside opinion.  In fact I am not going to be surprised if SJU takes a tumble at Whitewater....but we'll see...It's great to settle the debate on the field.

In the meantime I hope you all have a SAFE and enjoyable journey.

win [sic] it comes to Linfield it's quite skewed since the starters don't play much of the second half.

Thanks for the note, csnarnia.  Tough claim to make about starters not playing the whole game munging your stats.  None of the good teams play their starters beyond the half or third quarter.  You'll have to come up with another reason that is unique to Linfield.

Man, where do I start?!!! ??? Finsleft, even when the two towns were separate, it was always referred to as Norwood Young America when you told people where you lived. The high school that I went to was called Norwood Young America Central High. The Central was included since the school was centrally located between the two communities. Original, eh???

Though it is somewhat of a unique name, remember the other communities in Carver County: Cologne, Hamburg, New Germany and Gotha. Can't forget the cemetery that is called Schnappsburg. Have to love that German heritage. They came up with the Stiftungsfest.

Sjusection105, congrats on your 500th post and for your kind words. One of the greatest gifts I was ever given was the opportunity to attend St. John's.

Speaking of even greater gifts, I had hoped my kids would be attending SJU and CSB. Bus Driver, you have to let them go where they want. My daughter, who is at Colorado, got into CSB. She was too worried that her dad would show up at her dorm room every other Saturday afternoon in the fall to check up on her. ;) My son is in Prague for the fall semester and enjoys watching the Badgers in a bar with plenty of Czechs.

Cobber fans who are making the trip to McMinnville, I, too, would encourage you to hit the Elks Club Friday night and join the Linfield fans. A number of us Johnnies did this in 2002 and then got to watch the MIAC rep defeat the Wildcats at the CatDome the next day. Nice to see a repeat this year.

Csnarnia, are you still in Mongolia? Hope all is well with you.

Just learned from a friend at the pool this morning who is from the Whitewater area that there is a Hooter's very close to the Super 8 in Janesville. Sounds like a location where Bus Driver might want to be Friday night. ;)

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone on this board. We are all very blessed.

GO JOHNNIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  GO COBBERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the holler...yep, I'm still in good ole Mongolia...even saw George Bush's limo the other day...The Mongolians were really impressed...It's not about Republicans or Democrats...It's about America.

Good news on the injury front for SJU. From the SC Times:

"Dold returns at the same time that the Johnnies are dealing with the loss of senior guard Brian Mathiasen, who broke his ankle in a 62-3 victory over Monmouth (Ill.) in the first round of the NCAA Division III playoffs last Saturday. Mathiasen is a three-year starter and an All-MIAC first team pick.

Sophomore Andrew Johnson came in to replace Mathiasen last Saturday. Either he or Dold, who played guard as a freshman and sophomore, will be the starter when the Johnnies (11-0) take on Wisconsin-Whitewater (11-0) in the second round at noon Saturday at Perkins Stadium in Whitewater, Wis."

...

¦ Senior cornerback Mike Zauhar, who suffered a bruised hip Saturday, sat out practice Tuesday, but said he expects to be ready to play Saturday.

¦ Junior wide receiver Kyle Gearman, who has been slowed by bruised ribs suffered in a win over St. Thomas on Nov. 12, underwent x-rays Monday to see if the injury was anything more serious. The x-rays were negative and Gearman said he expects to return to practice today.

¦ Senior defensive tackle Jason Good, who suffered a sprained wrist and a possible hairline fracture Saturday, is practicing. He is wearing a protective brace.

Passing Efficiency is owned by Brett Elliot...he's quite unique.

Turnover Margin #1...and we all know how critical that is...seems like I remember a certain SJU vs Redlands game that you almost gave away due to that stat...anyway we get to see the best on the field this Saturday and following Saturdays to come...Stats won't mean a lot then...just the score.
