I have to admit, by this photo the UWW stadium is a nice facility.  I'd still rather be in Collegeville, though.

UWW game  notes are up.

I see by gojohnnies.com that the SJU fan bus is full.  Contact me ASAP if anyone is still interested in going by bus.  We have about 10 spots open yet, but 8 have been filled in the last hour.
SJU Champions 2003 NCAA D3, 1976 NCAA D3, 1965 NAIA, 1963 NAIA; SJU 2nd Place 2000 NCAA D3; SJU MIAC Champions 2018, 2014, 2009, 2008, 2006, 2005, 2003, 2002, 2001, 1999, 1998, 1996, 1995, 1994, 1993, 1991, 1989, 1985, 1982, 1979, 1977, 1976, 1975, 1974, 1971, 1965, 1963, 1962, 1953, 1938, 1936, 1935, 1932

Before we moved to Northfield, my family lived in Fort Atkinson, right near Whitewater because my dad was that athletic trainer at WW for two years.  WW does have a great football facility.  More of a d1 or d2 feel to it thought- not the same as Clemens.  Their head coach, Bob Brezowitz (sp?) is a great guy, a great family guy and really does a good job getting good kids in there.  It should be a well played, clean game.  I don't remember much of the town, as I was in first and second grade when we were there, and really haven't been back recently, however, I know that they have some good pizza joints in that area (proximity to Chicago is quite evident)

Best of luck to the Johnnies and the Cobbers.  Again, I keep my desire to see an all MIAC final in the west.  Stay safe and stay healthy to all.  Safe travels as you all go home to see your families for turkey day.  And lastly, happy thanksgiving to all.

Out of order, I'll show you out of order! You don't know what out of order is, Mr Task! I'd show you but I'm too old, I'm too tired, and I'm too f----n blind. If I were the man I was 5 years ago, I'd take a FLAMETHROWER to this place. Out of order, who the hell do you think you're talking to?

Happy Thanksgiving.  Safe travels to the Cobber fans coming west.

Esq:

Is it just me or did that whole press release seem a little condescending to our boys?

As I was reading it I was reminded of the '03 Stagg Bowl pregame when they talked about another huge team in purple that ran all over everyone else.  We all know what happened there!!

Anyway, Duff, Maniac, KR, Esq, JR and everyone else, have a safe trip out and yell a little for me.
I didn't do it....yet.

Eh, the game notes are a press release.  I expect them to be one sided, so it doesn't really bother me.  I wonder what they meant by the statement, "... Whitewater is 4-5 against Minnesota schools, the most of those the encounter with SJU in 2002 ... UW-W is 0-2 all-time vs. the MIAC, including a loss to the University of Saint Thomas in the NCAA III playoffs in 1990. ".  Most recent, perhaps?

For those that haven't already, get your pick'em done on the MIAC pick 'em page.

LAB, if there is an all-Minnesota regional final, I hope to see you in Collegeville to join us!

I never realized how much I hate purple.  Go Johnnies! Go Cobbers!

DIII Posters;  Has anyone read Football Guru's blog comments regarding the Gagliardi trophy?  They strike me as backhanded....

"This is a great award. We need an award that exemplifies the spirit of Division III. But we also need to remember that football is part of the award."

[/color] This comment, from the originator of this site, strikes me as a direct insult to the Gagliardi Trophy.  As if "football" isn't a part of the trophy?  I think anyone assembling a football team would certainly pick all ten candidates for their team.  Not only are your comments about the "G" trophy questionable, so is your subtle implication that the players aren't worthy of consideration as DIII's best player.  Perhaps we should remember that academics are indeed a crucial aspect to the small college game.

Naming a tophy for pure football skill is fine... so resurrect the Melberger trophy.  Be thankful a group of alumni from the midwest have taken the initiative to establish, support and promote "The Gagliardi" trophy.

Johnny Red,

H(.)(.)ters sounds fantastic.  You know I only go for the cold beers and the hot wings!  I will see if I can convince 56321 to stop there postgame on Saturday.

Veek,

I think if FrankR and Mongo are making the trip you will need at least a couple extra 12 pks of Leinie's Red.  Just a hunch...

Esq:

That's kind of what I was thinking.  I was also wondering if they have a writing center there because it looks like the SID could use it.

Thanks for the heads up.  NK says hi too.

I hope everyone has a safe trip to their Thanksgiving location and to any games they are attending this weekend. Cobber fans be careful coming over the mountains!

Since I am going to the Cobber game, I will not be at my computer to listen to the Johnnie game. If there is anyone attending/listening to the Johnnie game that would be willing to call and update me on the game, I would greatly apprecitate it!;-) E-mail me and we can exchange phone numbers! Thanks!!  :-*

Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.
