Football Guru;  I read into your editorial because it does not explicitly state your position..... it left too much room for interpretation.

Ok, I admit it, my irrational exuberance has been displaced by irrational sensitivity.....

FG/ROR/Ritz;  My panic disorder will properly be treated by a titanic tilt come Saturday at Perkins.... the Under Armor will remain on however!

In response to some of the previous posts in regards to what the Gagliardi Trophy represents.  The following is an excerpt from the SJU Athletic website's announcement of the 2005 Gagliardi Finalists.

"The award, presented to the outstanding football player in NCAA Division III, honors excellence in athletics, academics and community service. The award program is sponsored by Jostens, Inc. and conducted by the J-Club of Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minn. This year's winner will be announced on Thursday, Dec. 15, in Salem, Va."

Seems a shame the Gagliardi award isn't given out until 12/15. Assuming it goes to Elliot...well it would have been nice to see a little jinx ala "SI cover" or "Madden Football (pick a year)" cover going into this weekend. Cobbs are certainly capable, but every advantage, even superstitious, helps.

I too, find myself abhoring purple this week.

Go Cobbers! Go Johnnies!

If the human brain were so simple that we could fully understand it...we would be so simple that we couldn't.

Based on the description in the blog, is there a comparison between Beaver and Jake Barkley?  In other words, how should we relate Beaver to as a running back?

I'm assuming that he'll be very similar to Barkley, but with a funnier name.

Looks like a go for Mongo and I to Whitewater barring any last minute excuses Mongo may have.

Closer to it every day

Ok, I think I'm going to escape the office, so Happy Thanksgiving to all, as we have much to be thankful for, and prayers to all on safe journeys and travels this weekend, whether to be with their loved ones or to watch their team in the Playoffs.

Cheers and God bless to all, and for this weekend,  Go Johnnies!  Go Cobbers!

My two cents worth The award was/is designed to honor excellence in all three apscts-- football, academcis and community. The spirit of the award is what is so special and wonderfual abouf D3. Let's hope the voters remember this balance of athletic, academic and community service when they cast their ballots and do not turn this into a "just football success" award.

That seems to sum up Brett Elliott very well....not only is the guy a great football player but has been very involved in the Linfield and McMinnville community.

Only thing counting against him his the fact he hasn't played in the 2nd half in most games !!

The MIAC page is LAST on the list of leagues from the West in poster activity right now!! That's impossible. Where's TDT or SofaKing when you really need them!?!
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Retired Old Rat

As of 3:04pm Ritz is the last poster on every board in the West Region.

First time I've ever seen that.  Awesome job.

Posters interested in Saturday's contest;

Don't let anyone fool you or tell you otherwise.... this WWW team comes from the same mold, same model and sameness that has made the WIAC what it is today.... a step too slow.

Expect the same result Saturday.
