Nice Duff! The best use of a can of Stite Lite I can think of. That stuff is caca.

TC- How about running you're pick'em idea and the traditional one? That way, folks that want to do the quick pick can do that, and the true wackos around here can puff it out on yours. Or both.

Separated at birth?

St. Paul, the city actually hosting the RNC,                       and Rodney Dangerfield   ;D

I see you lurking, AO.  You wanna do a quick SJU schedule check with me and see if you can pick out the 4 games you'll inevitably predict the Johnnies to lose this year?
I'm getting the feeling that the johnnie fan expectations for the '08 Johnnies are fairly low after losing 2 of the last 3 games played, but on paper the Johnnies probably deserve the coaches poll pick to win the conference.  There's no doubt that Bethel lost a ton of talent as Wetzell was arguably more important to the Royal's success than Kofoed was to the Johnnies'.

The 4 upsets that seem the most likely to me would probably be the first 3 games and Bethel.    Can you imagine going into homecoming week being 0-3?  I know nothing about East Texas Baptist, but it doesn't seem that you can rule them out.  It's hard to imagine dropping 2 consecutive games at Clemens, but it's bound to happen one of these years.

I'm also hoping to pick St. Thomas over the Johnnies, but I won't commit as of yet.

That is a masterstroke.  Openly forwarding ignorance as an argument for a pick.  Just think of all the things a person could say: The Johnnies will underestimate them; ETBU will be geared for a really big game; ETBU have a couple speedsters on offense that could catch the Johnnies napping.

But, no, none of that will do.  Instead it's: I'm ignorant and therefore ETBU must have a chance.

Makes me smile.

Don't know about Fins, but the missus and I were at the march and have a celebrity sighting to report.  As we were walking around looking for confrontations to watch we came upon Jon Stewart walking up a side street with a bodyguard appearing type companion.  Not quick enough to get out the phone-cam and get proof, but he did shake my hand after I hailed him.  Good firm grip.
So you turned a perfectly good Kodak Moment into a mere Snoop Moment.

OxyBob
Guess so.  I was thinking about Snoop at the time.  I've never met Snoop.  Maybe he was the guy with Stewart. :D
It could have indeed been snoop.

I don't know what party he belongs to,  but I heard that McCain was considering him for Veep.  Unfortunately, during the vetting process, one of the first people they talked to was OxyBob.  Further investigation also revealed that he has very little experience with ice fishing.  But the topper is that "he doesn't know jack about beer" and may even favor beer made south of the border.

So a last minute decision was made to officially reunite with the Bull Moose Party by choosing a moose hunter.  The RNC was still trying to fit him on the abbreviated Convention schedule, but that is changing hourly. ;D

You have clearly flipped your Whig.

OxyBob
Thomas Jefferson started the Democratic Party, but they were called Republicans then.  Does that make them flip-floppers?

So is SJU planning anything special when JG coaches No. 800 this season?

Does snoop know this about how beer works?  It can make any day Anna Friday.

When who does what?

It will probably just generate more pizza ad placements in the program - "please turn to pages 23, 31 and 48 of your program and if you see the number 800 in red, you've won ..."  Or maybe they'll have Target endow the head coaching position; after all, John has been a target in the MIAC for many years.

If they wanted to really celebrate the event, they'd give us a 800 days of football without advertisements over the PA system - though I'd settle for one.

I do know they are picked to finish 4th out of 9 teams in the ASC, which is considered to be the 3rd best conference in D3, whereas the MIAC is ranked 7th.  Plus, they're from Texas.  Don't mess with Texas.

snoop dawg

GF, I hope you are not becoming like Obsessed Bob and follow my every word on the board.  It's Ok I don't care if you feel you need to have a chuckle at my expense.  I find it funny that Shulda mentions a celeb citing and I get blasted.

anyway, here is something you will all enjoy, these are real photos taken from a satellite.

Times, they are a changin'.  I don't know if you all caught this, but the Johnnies have a new 'fight' anthem.  An article about it is here at the SC Times, and they have a link to a bit of it here.

It rocks a bit and I think it will grow on me pretty easily.

It will be interesting to hear the whole thing.  The snippet they posted was a little cheesy.  I like the idea of opening with the tolling Abbey bells, though ;D
Book'em Dano...
I'm surprised there is not any reference to Orville Reddenbacher in the snipet
