TC,
Nice analysis on delmon young.  Hopefully he can get a few hits and get rbi's as well.

The wild looked pretty rusty in the first preseason game.  However, they did win 2-1.

Baseball...okay to talk about as the Twins are in a penant race..

Hockey---WHO CARES!!!!!! (Except that my daughter's team had 12 penalties last night...her coach has dubbed her and her two line mates the Johnson Sisters!)

If I had to guesstimate his chances of finishing the regular season at or above .300, I'd say about 40%, aided somewhat significantly by the chance of last-game-of-the-season shenanigans aiding him in his quest.  Like Shoulda said, fins, don't drink that Hamm's just yet.

I still wonder about the wording of the bet.  From memory, I believe it was that DY would reach .300 by season's end, not at season's end.  It seems to me that TDT wins if DY just gets there at some point, even one at bat.

Oz, you've obviously had too much Fosters. TDT/Delmon are longshots no matter how you cut it. I'll tell you all about the wording of the deal on Monday.  ;)

We had a bus full of school staff at the game last night.  Needless to say I would venture there are a lot of videos being shown in classrooms around the LF schools today.   ::)

We didnt get home until about 2 am as there was a nasty accident at the 1/2 way crossing that shut down highway 10 for about 2 hours.

Gomez's catch was amazing.  Rarely do you see someone "catch up" to a line drive.

And what are you doing young man? Life for a middle school AD can't be easy, you don't just "phone in" a job like that  ;)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Did anyone else get this message yesterday?

QuoteWednesday, Sept. 24

Dear Johnnie sports fans:

We are writing to let you know about some exciting news from the Saint John's athletic department. On Thursday, Sept. 25, a new version of the gojohnnies.com athletic Web site will be unveiled. This upgrade marks the most substantial change to gojohnnies.com in over five years. The new Web site will continue to give fans the most up-to-date information on Saint John's athletics, along with the benefits of a new look and interactive features. Last year, the SJU athletic Web site received nearly eight million hits. We are confident this Web site assists in our efforts for continuous improvement and an aspiration with Johnnie athletics to be the best in all we do.

Well, I checked my Mickey Mouse calendar watch and today's the 25th, but so far nothing new at gojohnnies.com ... sometime later today I guess (so this is what Ryan's been working on).

Who cares? You can get all the good info from johnniefootball.com.

Unfortunately, it appears Mr. Shoes spent the second half of the Vikings game actually watching the game instead of working on the new stylesheet.

I finally got to watch a Twis game last night, even though it was the Chicago broadcast. Not only hadn;t I heard about Mijares, who was the guy who pitched the sixth? When is the underhander gonna be back?

Ken "The Hawk" Harrelson and his partner Dennis "DJ" Johnson, who always give the Twins props, were livid over the call at second on the Gomez pickoff. I've seen other worse calls, but this one seemed to really chap their a$$es. It was interesting that they were more or less implying that Buerhle outpitched Blackburn, and they had a point. They just couldn't believe the dinks, dunks, broken bat singles and "ducksnort" hits that the Twins beat them on. It ws funny to hear them bitch, while also saying they wished the Sox were more like the Twins.

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

If we had Neshek all year, the games this week just might have been meaningless.

Best sign at last night's game: "First Clay Aiken, now A.J.?"

Sad to see my Yankees couldn't make a playoff run in the last season of the cathedral. Saw 2 games there in May against the Mariners and it was amazing, even if the stadium was a wreck.

But I'm glad to see the Twinks doing well, hope to see them pull out the Division.

Willy Wonka

Who's in charge of the radio this weekend? I want to make sure we have the U's annihilation of the Buckeyes on tap (and not Miss Hilton) before watching another home crowd leave in stunned silence.

Ritz - AMEN about hockey. Keep preaching, my brotha.

TDT - Quit harassing me. I'm above your petty tactics.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Hilarious!

+k all around except for the fan of the kid with the rich dad.
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

Having problems with your kids?  Nebraska has a solution.

FYI, there is no truth to the rumor that TDT's mom tried to drop him at an Omaha hospital claiming he was only 18.
