The MIAC has the privilege of seeing the biggest game that doesn't include SJU in maybe 10 or 20 years this weekend. It's #21 vs. #32 in the nation and both are MAJOR surprises. But instead of looking at the big picture, the Johnnie faithful come out of the woodwork to discuss moves (the cynical part of Wonka would argue divert attention) the Twins should make when they don't play again for, what, 5 months?

I'm a Gustie fan who is more interested in this game than what will take place out west on Saturday. It could be a historic day with national tournament implications between two cellar-dwellers. And I'm shocked to say I actually like one of Pat's projects. It's a HUGE game. What's so hard to understand here, Oz?

Thanks for the insight, KnightRyder! Can I ask you to post again after the game, since I can't be there to check it out? Then you can go back to lurking :)

I'd check in with my Auggie source for info...but Frank and I have to dominates the lanes again tonight.

I appreciate you encouraging fans of teams other than the Johnnies to come out of lurkdom and post about their teams. Unfortunately, that is about the extent of what I appreciate about the majority of your posts... :-\ You expect Johnnie fans to post about the other teams when the only post you make about the Johnnies are negative comments. Unlike you, I don't feel the need to continually bash any other team. While I wish I had the opportunity to go to more MIAC games, I don't. I have gone and supported every MIAC team to venture into the NWC (with the exception of the Concordia game earlier this season), but one game every season or so does not really give me much insight into a team.  I can only listen to one football game at a time on Saturdays and surprise, surprise, that is going to be the Johnnie game. I don't really know a lot about the other teams, and while that doesn't stop some from commenting, it does stop me. I think that baseball is the most boring sport ever (except for possibly golf) but, if the other Post Patterns faithful want to post about it, I don't mind. They can choose what they post just like I can choose what I read. I think you probably have a lot of interesting things to share here, but unfortunately the tinge of bitterness that underlies your posts make them hard to appreciate. :(

Ramler is what this program needed and his success should be highly emphasized. He is able to motivate and recruit at an institution that prides itself on academics.  Carleton's academics are on par with the Ivy's, and school is very very intense.

He made practice fun; it is hard to believe that I looked forward to practice even after pulling an all nighter for school.  If you weren't one of 'Brann's Boys,' which I wasn't, he made you feel worthless. That is why he was never successful and left as soon as he could, and has done nothing at Beloit (if he is still there) he was a pitiful motivator and coach. Ramler makes every one feel like they are a part of the team and they play a role.

I am glad that Ramler is finding success at Carlton.  He coached at SJU my senior season, and he is a great guy.  He had a rough go at Heidelberg, so it is great to see him turning things around now that he's a head coach!

OK, well I can say I haven't heard Coach Ramler's name tossed around as the future head coach at St. John's however I'm beginning to think he may be the guy.  Thanks for the heads up!   ;D

bennie.....a very articulate post.  Can you help me out with OB? ;)

I've said it before and I'll say it again ... the problem isn't too many SJU posters but the lack of posters from other schools.

Maybe it's that I haven't made it to 56321 to see the results in person, but I'm not getting too verklempt about a down season and I'm enjoying the change somewhat (although not as much as my black-sheep brother, a former Carl WR).

The old Jefferson line about "a little revolution now and then is a good thing" seems to apply ... as long as "now and then" refers only to September and October. :)

Similar appreciation to bennie using the word lurkdom if it is, in fact, a word.  ???

Or even if it's not. ;D

+k BDB for post #2222.

Augsburg has to many weapons for Carlton.

Jordan Berg is a really smart qaurterback and will bounce back from that last game, and with all his receivers back expect a big game from him.

They have three really good recievers; Winford and Al-Hameed are playing better then any reciever in the conference, also talented Nourie too.

I don't think that the Carlton's D can handle those three themsleves

Looks to me that this is one Muneer Al-Hameed?   Soph WR #8, who is having a pretty good year so far....but didn't play last week?
