Congrats to you Johnnie fans and to the players on the win.  I know it is hard to see a team not doing what you are used to.

I guess it's just a matter of math to me. 4 to 1. 12/3. Somehow, that doesn't seem like a rational outcome of non-biased officials. I have never once stated that they were Pro-Carleton. Rather, that they thoroughly screwed us! I'm not saying that they did anything to benefit Carleton. I have said from the beginning that they screwed us. And, yes, a 4 to 1 penalty ratio disparity IS rather difficult to overcome.

Perhaps you missed my very first post. Posted first because I wanted to give the Carleton and Augsburg teams and their performances their due. I did that FIRST because it should have been that way.

Perhaps my play by play suggests my maroon colored glasses. But, perhaps your disagreement suggests your maize and blue colored ones. I go back to the stats then as my neutral point. 12 vs 3. that's my "meet in the middle" location.

Maybe they tried to cheat more.

What a game today down at Carleton, a great homecoming was had.

Hats off to both squads, as they both played their asses off. I don't remember a turnover, but perhaps there was one.

Berg is a very good quarterback. And Winford has to be an All-American.

Obviously I have a biased opinion, but the refs called the game as well as they could. LAB didn't mention the TD that Augsburg scored that very well could have been a fumble before their player crossed the goal line.  But overall they called a fair game, and Augsburg got away with some calls.

Everyone knows Augsburg is a dirty team, they like to talk a lot of junk and (very generally) act like jerk offs, as evidenced by their players getting on this form earlier in the week and talking crap, who does that while still actually playing? . If the refs did favor Carleton, it should be expected. Why wouldn't they favor the team with more class? Besides, as maizeandblue noted, Carleton has never gotten any love from refs in the past (and why would they when our program used to be one of the worst in all of D3), so if anything, it was finally karma coming full circle.

We know LAB is disheartened they let the game slip away, but they made the mistakes, Carleton made the plays.

Carleton's O looked very very good, without Frank. Henfling played incredibly. The frosh running back is a stud, and they got other backs that are solid. Their D did not play as bad as the yardage indicated, they made a lot of plays to bat balls away and get sacks when they needed. Honestly, I never thought I would see this day, at least not so soon.

Carleton is the real deal, Ramler is the real deal. Lots of recruits there today, I can only see this continuing for Carleto., I expect Carleton will be able to start pulling players away from the Ivys and other higher division intense academic institutions in the coming years.

Not only a great day to be a Knight, but a great year. Today was Blissful.

Wow, with 2 conference losses I did not think SJU had a chance at winning the conference.  Now, I do.  They had better have their helmets strapped on tight for UST. With the way the MIAC is this year and the lack of respect it gets, we're only getting one team in the Playoffs this year boys.

Come on chewy, the MIAC is one of the best conference in the West Region.  The WIAC might have you beat.  You want to talk about lack of respect.  Come talk to the IIAC.

Lots of newbie front runners coming on lately. Looks like TDT saw a barn burner at the "X" The Wild tried to let the B's tie it up, but hung on by their fingernails. Caps win, Ovechkin gets 2 goals to try and win back-to-back Harts. Kessel and Wheeler both played well, with Kessel getting the Bruin's first goal.

I'm amazed, as the Carleton coaches clearly were at the time, that there is any dispute over the onside kick. The ball was given to the Knights at about the 44, where they recovered it. 44-30 = 14 (more than the requisite 10 yards). It may have been touched slightly before the 44, but definitely past the 40.

The facemask penalty was visible from the Carleton side of the field. You can call me a liar, but I saw it. Maybe I can prove to you that I saw it by saying I think the play was unfortunate in that it illustrated the silliness of the new facemask rules in college football. The penalty was one that probably would have fallen under the old 5-yard rule, which no longer exists and would not have resulted in a first down for Carleton. Unfortunately for college football that is the rule, but you have to play with it.

Auggie fans, I understand that you're upset that your masterful passing offense was undermined by a couple big special teams plays, but don't degrade Carleton's all-around effort by blaming officiating. There's more than one way to skin a cat. Carleton went to the back page at the right time and got it done today.

Was just thinking how much I will miss Alaska when I move, hell it is 9:30 and the Rays game is still on, 12:30 back in 'sota and it may not be done yet.  Plus I can still watch the NFL  pregame show on sunday AFTER I get home home from church.

How did my dislike of SJU suddenly turn me into the "all knowing MIAC football" guru?

All I can say...is that this conference is F..A..R from being over. There is a lot of football left to be played.

By scolding everything Johnnie, and bragging up all else in the MIAC you are but the only choice for such a position.
