Hey, take out the position of 2nd base in baseball and Joe Mauer hits .750 this year.  I'm actually starting to lean towards the Cobb Wagon....TC are you on it?

Is that even a question?  I'm ready to hop on the Cobber Cruiser and ride it all the way to its ignominious conclusion in the West Region semifinals!  Errr, I mean...

The time for CHANGE in the MIAC is NOW!  YES WE CAN!  YES WE CAN!  YES WE CAN!!!  Change for change's sake!  Down with our Royal rulers!!!  YES WE CAN! Flush the Johnnies!!!

Not only are we going to Collegeville, we're going to Northfield and St. Peter and Arden Hills.  And we're going to Monmouth and Waverly and Whitewater and Alliance.  And then we're going to Salem, VA to take back the Stagg Bowl!    Yeeeeeeeeeeeaaaargh!!!!!!

HAhahahahahahaha...... that is too good.

Why are we talking about 2plays/2losses though? that is irrelevant.  This is football, the game is constantly full of crap like that, one play here and one play there.  Ask the Patriots after the superbowl last year.  You know what close gets you?  nothing.   So yeah Cord has gotten a few lucky breaks and some other teams like HU or SJU or whoever else you wanna put there have gotten the short end of the stick, but thats the game we play.  There can only be one winner of each game.

And also the Bandwagon has been in Moorhead ever since we beat SJU and Bethel to start off MIAC play.  The loss to St. Thomas was only a bump in the road to the Western divison championship.  :)

Careful.  It only takes one large fart to clear a bandwagon.

Bah to coming down to two plays.  Comes down to 60 minutes of missed or made plays.

You're absolutely right.  For SJU and the Cobbs, each team had 60 minutes to make them and CC just made more of them that SJU.

This looks to be a very promising new site run by one of the Cobber faithful.  I'll jump on the Cobbler bandwagon when SJU has been eliminated.  As for right now, I'm still hoping for two losses for them, though that hope is growing more dim.  I'll be with them should they win it though.  As for this off weekend, I'll be on either the Wartburg or Luther bandwagons down in Waverly.  That should be a good game with playoff implications and I am interested to see how good the IIAC is this year compared to Central last year.  One does not usually see Luther at the top of the IIAC standings which makes things even more interesting.

Well its nice to hear that chewy.  I understand ur dedication and hopefullness for SJU, although it does look grim...... but who ever ends-up taking the MIAC should have all of our support, for they represent our division in the post-season.  CobberNation bandwagon is starting to load up :)  hop on!

Thanks for the plug. Hopefully people will start trickling over and registering...pretty barren at the moment. BUT, there was a Linfield fan who registered before anyone else.

That does not surprise me given the vigor of the Linfield fan base.  I already registered.  It looks very well done and has news about each program.  Good work.

For the record, I was only invoking the "2 plays from undefeated" clause to try to talk some of my Johnnie bretheren back from the ledge.  I'm not saying the Johnnies are better than Concordia or Bethel this year (or even St. Olaf or St. Thomas, even though the Tommmies suck) or that other teams don't have the exact same "2 plays" argument.  What I am saying is that it is foolish to look just at the results--two losses in eight games--and assume that all of a sudden the St. John's process needs to be overhauled.  Remember, the '03 team very easily could have lost to St. Thomas and Bethel and finished 8-2 and out of the playoffs.

Is something broken at St. John's?  Maybe, maybe not.  But I have a hard time believing that a program that could do no wrong just short 5 years ago is as incompetant now as some people are claiming.   Outside of Alliance, OH, these things go in cycles.  Take a deep breath.  Relax.  Enjoy the season.

As the person who brought up the two plays talk today in terms of SJU; I was merely doing so to remind the Carleton fan that his team was not the only one impacted in this strange season by a small number of critical plays.  I am well aware that SJU is also a couple plays removed from being .500 this season.  TC- your analysis is spot on in terms of 2003....we could easily have lost the games you mention and been left home.....fortunately for us that did not happen and we came home with the Walnut and Bronze along with some very nice National Championship rings 8) 8) 8)
