For the record, I was only invoking the "2 plays from undefeated" clause to try to talk some of my Johnnie bretheren back from the ledge.  I'm not saying the Johnnies are better than Concordia or Bethel this year (or even St. Olaf or St. Thomas, even though the Tommies suck) or that other teams don't have the exact same "2 plays" argument.  What I am saying is that it is foolish to look just at the results--two losses in eight games--and assume that all of a sudden the St. John's process needs to be overhauled.  Remember, the '03 team very easily could have lost to St. Thomas and Bethel and finished 8-2 and out of the playoffs.

As the person who brought up the two plays talk today in terms of SJU; I was merely doing so to remind the Carleton fan that his team was not the only one impacted in this strange season by a small number of critical plays.  I am well aware that SJU is also a couple plays removed from being .500 this season.  TC- your analysis is spot on in terms of 2003....we could easily have lost the games you mention and been left home.....fortunately for us that did not happen and we came home with the Walnut and Bronze along with some very nice National Championship rings 8) 8) 8)

A play and a call don't you mean   ;D ;D ;D ;D  from being .500.  The play was made.   ;D ;D ;D

Is something broken at St. John's?  Maybe, maybe not.  But I have a hard time believing that a program that could do no wrong just short 5 years ago is as incompetant now as some people are claiming.   Outside of Alliance, OH, these things go in cycles.  Take a deep breath.  Relax.  Enjoy the season.

Agreed that it is foolish to look at the results, HU is the prime example, right?  They are what, 0-5 in MIAC play but 4 of them have been decided by 3 or less points?  I think im close in that statement.  So yeah, some teams are better than their record says.  But even with that being said, the end results say who is going to play in post season and who is not.  So the end-game results are the most important.

TC- I also agree that people who think SJU is in some sort of disasterous season hasnt been watching closely enough.  BTW a disasterous season for SJU is losing 3 games?  I think the level of expectation is high, but realize that you are much beter than .500 and have been for a long time :)

Does everyone here still hate the Twins/Rays trade now that it's, essentially, Matt Garza and Jason Bartlett for Delmon Young, Brendan Harris and FREE TACOS?  I'd say that's a trade that everyone wins.

TC,

That trade is typical twins business.  They leave the system and become better players.  Ex.  David Ortiz and as hard to say this Kyle Lohse!  Too bad I can't say the same for Carlos Silva.

Since it seems like you're going to keep up this website advertising and sign-up campaign for a while, could you explain what you're trying to accomplish with your new discussion boards?  Are you trying to put together a place for Concordia fans to talk Concordia sports and such?  If so, hey, good luck with that.  But if you're expecting fans of other MIAC teams on this site to use it, why?  Are you offering something for non-Cobber fans that the boards here don't?

Yes and yes. It's for Concordia sports, BUT...I have created a threads for all of the other MIAC schools, and other conferences around the nation. Also a thread for D3 sports in general. But the biggest perk judging from your posts in the past, is that there is a smack talk thread.  :P

Doesn't seem much different from d3.com  D3.com has other sports for all d3 conferences in the nation.  Plus, there is smack talk on here you just have to look at the past 2883 pages.

PC says these boards don't make him any money, and actually costs him money. We'd be doing him a favor to hear him tell it. I'm all for everyone going to cobber nation.
