Larry you dog.  Just talked to the Mayor.  It appears to just have been a procedural mixup.  Hopefully no one knows the home address of the Mayor or they'd have the precise directions to the lucky terdy pk...

Bennie:  I thought esq had answered the question pretty well, but as long as you're questioning my motives I might as well point out that I had no problem with  Wayzata 38 - Tech 0.  Do we have any Tech grads on here?  I thought duff maybe was?  there sure were some unhappy tiger fans posting comments on the Times recap of the game.  especially regarding a certain hit a certain linebacker I know pretty well put on a mr. kaczor.

What is the series with SCSU at?  The Johnnies probably deserve the mythical stearns title based on the last 10 and a better winning percentage in most every season.

The cobbs definitely deserve the moorhead crown after their recent dominance forced the dragons to stop playing that game.

I gotta ask...are you for real?  The Cobbs and Dragons did not play this year because of when school opened at the respective schools and the way the schedule fell and the new conference set up for the NSIC...check your facts and "step your game up".   As the flash wrote recently...I feel dumber just reading that post...

Who cares what the reason was that they didn't play this year, cobbs won four of the last five and hold a commanding series lead.   And I haven't even brought up the embarrassing outburst by the MSUM coach last year.  Cobbers clearly have the upper hand.

Mr. President:
No concern re: your delivery service now that I know your courier was LBean. His word is golden.
I'll toast Delmon's success this evening, with props to you and LBean Delivery.

If they insist on calling Stanton a defensive end in their new scheme, wouldn't it technically be a 4-3 that they primarily ran on Saturday?  It looked like #13 spent about an equal amount of time in coverage and in the backfield--it was almost a 3-3-5 stack with an extra strong safety in the game.  I guess the name doesn't matter so much as the results and I think they'll have a hard time getting Stanton off the field at this point.
The coaches must be reading The Sizzle on johnniefootball.com. One football genius wrote this on October 11th:
"(Closed circuit to SJU coaches: find a way to get Stanton in the game. I don't think you've got another player to match his size, speed and ability)."

AO;

I deleted my last post because I've been far too indulgent in being belligerent.  I would like to pretend I didn't make it.

This board is much better to read if you just scroll past the AO posts and follow-up responses.

Looking forward to hosting the Jays on Saturday.

If I had to pick a favorite on Saturday at Carleton I'd go with the Knights....you might say my expectations aren't very high for Saturday.
Why.....
1. 1924 and 1992...Carleton's only MIAC Championships
2. Knights beat the Cobbers in Moorhead and threw for a ton of yards.
3. Ramler knows the Johnnies as well as the Johnnies knows the Johnnies.

You traitor Faunch!  Check the Knights record.... there's a few recent warts there.  And don't forget, the Cobbers were pretty good pretenders this year.

If that is the case, STOP RUNNING THE OPTION TO THE SHORT SIDE OF THE FIELD.

Please.

Dusty...
I hope you are more right than I am.  Don't get me wrong...I want the Johnnies to win...what a bizarre end to a bizarre season it would be....the Johnnies lose to both BU and the Corn-holios and still have a chance to win the conference.

Does anyone here think that running a Statue of Liberty play for a TD was a coincidence? John just wanted to put one more thing on film for the Carleton coaching staff to game plan for.
Here's a hint for the Carleton coaches....look for a Halfback option pass ( most likely back to the QB) in the 1st series. Go ahead and look back on film, look at the Bethel game 2003 for evidence of that. Big games always start with trick plays to get the momentum rolling!  ;)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

As in losing on the last play of the game in both losses?

It is however interesting that Carleton beat both teams St. Johns lost to and St. Johns beat both teams Carleton lost to.

As for Ramler knowing the Johnnies, that is perhaps the biggest advantage for Carleton... hell, his whole style and philosophy is molded around the Johnnies (as was a selling point when he interviewed). Did I ever mention he was a lot of fun to play for?
