A Merry +Kristmas Day to the first three pages.  It's bright and sunny in Oz, an unnatural 79 degrees is expected on this day.

Merry Christmas to all my MIAC PP friends.

Good score at Christmas this year: A number of books, a tie, the mandatory Johnnie wear (this year a sweatshirt with hood) and a DVD of Hawthorn's victory over Geelong in the Grand Final.

If any of you folks meander down this way one day, we'll go to a footy game and if it isn't footy season we now have a crackerjack game to watch on the TV.  How good is that?

A "Priceless" moment from Christmas, 2008.

I received a "Golfers Survival Kit" from my 8 yr. old Goddaughter. The Kit was pre-packaged and included a water bottle, tees, 3 golf balls, a divot repair tool and a golf towel. I thanked her for the gift and told her it was just what I wanted and I would put it to good use this coming summer.

I asked where did she get the gift because I thought some of my friends could use one when their birthdays rolled around. I had all I could do to keep from bursting out laughing, and I am glad her mom or dad didn't hear the response, because she may have been grounded. Her answer, after a shrug of the shoulders was, "my mom's closet,.....we didn't even use it once!!!" With a smile from ear to ear  ;D

So there you go fellow MIACPP regulars, a "re-gifted" gift story. I'm sure my sister-in-law received this as a door prize from a company golf outing and tossed it in her closet as she golfs 3-4 times per season.

The innocence of children.....Priceless!
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Ah yes, RedHotBennie's husband passed along to me a "Killian's Red" Tshirt he received the night before from his Tommie friend Tony G.  As RHB and The Man of Steele were hosting, I first thought this a generous offering before unwrapping.

So it's time for the "Biggest/Best/Funniest [Fill in the blank] of 2008" posts.  Here's my favorite - it's a bit of government spending in the UK that doesn't cost any of us money.  The UK Office of Government Commerce commissioned a new logo in April.  It was money spent.

Turn it 90 degrees clockwise to visualize this upstanding gov't expenditure.

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

12/27/08 From Caring Bridge

On Christmas Day, Br. Dietrich's health took a very serious downturn. Earlier this week many of you recieved Christmas greetings from him providing a health update. On Tuesay, Dietrich told us that he hoped to post a Christmas message to this site sometime this week -- and on Wednesday he attended the Saint John's Christmas Eve vigil. But on Christmas day, weakness and fatigue kept him in bed for the whole day. And each day since then he has become weaker.
On Christmas day it was uncertain whether his condition was because of the radiation treatments he underwent or from other issues. In the last days it appears that the melanoma, which has been elusive, unrelenting and unpredictable, may be rapidly taking its toll.
Though Br. Dietrich slept most of Friday, he was awake for the sacrament of the sick recieved from Abbot John and his monastic community that afternoon. Today he is terribly weak and at this juncture all who are caring for him are feeling very uncertain. He continues to ask for prayers and is thankful for the comfort of those around him.

I don't get it.

Oh Janesville...

Has it really been that long?

One word...

Viagra!

Man.  The Vikings have been on down here about five times this season.  Friggin' Jackson tossing another red zone interception.  Fire Childress and pay bucks for a seasoned qb (not mcnabb).  I reckon if Childress is fired that the citizens of Mn will be so grateful that they will gladly fork out for a new stadium.

So... Run the ball, fail to run another play... Drop the kick.... Toss it out of bounds... Mess with Longwell's head... And... Let the Giants mess with Longwell some more... And... Get lucky. Fire Childress anyway.
