tmert....yesterday was the kind of day that make people move to Calif.  It was in the high 60's low 70's and absolutely beautiful.  There was a frost delay until 9 a.m. at the golf course though, a real bummer.  I hope everyone stays warm and has a very Happy and prosperous New Year.

SUMMIT!!!!!

totally unrelated to any other posts, but I had a thought--- Since SJU seems to have a challenging time finding a non-conference opponent some years, why not take on Carroll College? The game could be called "The Gagliardi Bowl" and played at Clemens Stadium. There are all kinds of marketing angles (which I'm sure AD Stock would be all over) that would enable SJU to recoup any share of the gate they'd have to give to entice Carroll to make the trip.

I'd say Carroll would be good competition and a better test than playing the kind of teams that make their way onto the MIAC schools' schedules (Mac, anyone from the UMAC, etc). And "The Gagliardi Bowl" would be as entertaining as most of the Division I bowl games I've suffered thru this month.
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

I'm pretty much where shoulda is on T Jack. I think he has the physical abilities to become better than good. His recent performances show that he is capable of improving in the understanding the game area. He's still young, and I'm hoping for the best. Gus isn't the answer long term. I just hope they get some young stud in the draft. There are many QB's out there. All that being said, I'm predicting that all four Wild Card teams win this weekend.

Not to be overly pedantic (what's the correct amount of pedantic?), but you simultaneously hold out hope for Jackson while wishing for a young stud in the draft.  Those are inconsistent positions.  Either you don't really have that much faith in Jackson or you are politely telling me to get stuffed.  The latter?

Or maybe the former.  Let's see how damaging that Jackson interception for a TD turns out to be...  GUS! GUS! GUS!

Well... How long until Johnnie football?  I'm tired of the Vikings, but it looks like I've only got 6:53 to go with them this season anyway.

On the other side of the coin, former Collingwood Magpie and North Melbourne Kangaroo, Sav Rocca, had a great day punting for the Eagles.

Which team do I despise more than the Eagles?  The friggin' Magpies.

OZ  After three posts in a row, I just thought I would inject something so it wouldn't look like you were talking to yourself. ;)

OzJohnnie

Thanks, snoop.  I was starting to fall in love with the read of my own type.

On the Johnnies, for those in the know, what thinks you of our offense next year?  Boyle is the most likely starter at QB, barring a star recruit from points unseen.  Will he spend the summer in "Pocket Camp" learning to toss the pigskin with the same flair he runs it with?  And the offensive line... One year older and one year wiser?  Or start over?

OZ - I would never be that harsh. After today, I'm in much the same position. He could pan out. He's still young in QB terms. There are very, very few who come into the league like Matt Ryan did this year. Brett Favre was not Brett Favre until a few years in. I see a glimmer ther that might spark a fire, but with every game, I see the same bad tendencies, just more good ones. Gus is  a bit old (not that there's anything wrong with that), and they need to bring someone in  now that can take over if T Jack doesn't "blossom."

Heading for snoop territory on 1/10. Keep it warm and sunny out there "dog". I remember frost on the pumpkin one morning last year. But, as you  say, just wait for an hour or so, and tee off.

GO Caps!

By the way bennie, did you teach Semin how to fight? What an embarrassment.

Oz...  I talk to myself all the time, I only listen half the time though.  I am still trying to work on part of our statement.

We have actually had some really cold weather out here, frost on the corse has been pretty bad in the mornings.  Furnace running all night.  Our homes are not really designed for 30 degree temperatures.  :-\

Trust a lawyer to refer to a "relationship" as a "statement."   ::)

Oz....we trial attorneys are the watchdogs of society.  Heck, if it wasn't for us, you might still be driving a Ford Pinto that blows up on impact!   ;D

Ok, you got me on the statement part, I was referring to the "points unseen " part of your post.  As you say, but with a small twist, "still developing" ;)

I must admit, I never seem to understand the national (intl) hatred of the Eagles....

Aren't people supposed to hate "Winning" teams?  I can understand hatred of the Steelers or Cowboys in their day...I can understand hatred of the Niners in the Nineties, and the Pats in the 2000s....but the Eagles?

What have they won?     ...and they're about as dysfunctional as the Vikes....

The Eagles didn't so much win yesterday....as the Vikes gave that game away....poor coaching and the QB decision killed them.

Neither really would have a chance in the Meadowlands next week anyway....

Now the Magpies....they s*ck! ;)
