We viewed Gran Turino (correct spelling).

Correct spelling of what?  Not of the movie title.  Or the car Ford made.  Even Turin, Italy in Italian is Torino.

Ozzies.  Geez.

well, he said they spelled differently in Oz.

As for the costume picture, good grief.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

And the home of Fiat, also know as Fix It Again Tony.

I reckon you owe tmerton hazardous duty pay for that.

(and it was supposed to be "correct spelling?" but the stinking edit screen for posting from the blackberry is a nightmare.  Too hard to proof read.  Honest... I ran out of gas. I, I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts. IT WASN'T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD!)

And being unable to resist clicking on the embiggable picture, I notice some odds things once I'm able to look past the ...patient?

What's up with the hugging bunnies in the background?

And an Oompaloompa is holding the ...patient's?... hand in the foreground?  With another Oompaloompa apparently holding the ...patient's?... left hand as well?

But the guy in the suit (a bouncer?) leads one to believe that this is actually real.  A quick Google search informs me that AMR ambulances operate in 40 states across America.  Fortunately for trying to locate this incident, that list does not include Minnesota.  Surprisingly, it doesn't include Wisconsin either.

"Saltwater crocodile eats shark with one gulp"

The croc went head-to-head with the shark last week only metres from a boatload of surprised fishermen.

Craig Van Lawick was aboard the commercial barramundi vessel on the Wildman River 100km east of Darwin when the croc started devouring the one-metre shark, The Northern Territory News reports.

EDIT:  Moral of the story - if you're a bit hot when out fishing, don't take a dip in the water.  Consider a cool drink instead.  'Cause if the sharks don't eat you, the salties will.

How much longer do we have to wait for the so-and-so said they would attend the such-and-such MIAC school?  The grid iron doldrums are starting to drive me batty.

In other news Mrs. Oz and I managed to get out and see a movie.  We viewed Gran Turino (correct spelling).  I found that despite the predictable storyline that the characters were engaging and the use of the young priest as an effective plot device in adding depth to Eastwood's character was engaging.  Heavy movie, but enjoyable.

So how desperate do I appear to drum up some sort of conversation?

Here's a little tease for you from:

Alex Powell, CB/WR: St. John's University (4.5 speed or better...yes Johnnie fans I said 4.5 speed...played mostly corner but also can be a threat at WR...I predict he'll play as a freshman, is also a baseball player and played basketball through 10th grade)
Max Forster, WR: St. John's University (could see some time down the road...was the 3rd or 4th option for the Royals as they were loaded with wide-outs.)
Anthony Retica, DL: St. John's University (could be decent D-end down the road....really hustles and works hard)

Nice.  And now like a reformed meth addict, one small hit isn't enough.  I've read the post three times, the last try with a 4/4 cadence to slow down, in an attempt to feed the hunger.  Very exciting.

Blinding speed in the skill positions may be on the cards this year.  Who is the low 4's running back that we picked up last year?  From Minnehaha, maybe?  That would be nice to watch.

EDIT: Or at a minimum, listen to.

And how about them Twinkies, heh?  They're having a great pre-season.  Heck, I got a little life left in my barely beating heart, despite Childress' efforts to kill me off.  I may as well get all hopeful about the hardball now.

Just as a gentle reminder of the pre-season's importance, the Lions went 4-0! :o ;D
