Just back from Laughlin where a few of us 57 JOHNNIES & wives celebrated the life of another one we lost before Christmas. His widow was able to join us so it was JOHNNIE UP the way it should be.

Mrs. 57 took away enough to pay for the trip +  ;)

Hey, 57, I think that was some of my money. Enjoy!

I can't believe I would at all be interested in the NHL Western Conference were it not for bennie's Bluejackets love affair, but it's really heating up. I would guess that the possibility of the Jackets drawing your beloved ;D Canucks in the first round has you a bit jazzed.

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

57, there was a bunch from Fairbanks down there at the same time for their annual Elks golf tournament, did you run across any of them?
Everyday is payday in paradise.

My folks are away at the moment, Duff, so - don't know what the lakes are like, but it's been so cold in the news this year that I can't imagine you'll see enough water to float a boat for another month.

We're a few weeks away on the lakes, but the Mississippi has been open for a while around here.  I'll be on the water soon!  ;)

A tradition unrivaled...

Lost a sock or found a sock?  It's hard to remember after enough drinks.

No but it was so crowded that you didn't leave where you were staying (Golden Nugget). Even the highway signs warned about heavy traffic and crowding because of Spring Break. We tried staying in Mesquite on the  way home (to spend some of that money :P) but everything was booked up there also due to the break. The crowds were young but seemed a little older than college age - but then again when I went, we all got out in 4 years and had to get a job 8)

Did you go to In and Out Burger for a Double Double? It's just down the block and across the street from the Golden Nugget.
I wish we had In and Out Burger in Minnesota  :'(
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Saw the In And Out but didn't stop. I wish we had one here too. Also wish we had a Popeye's but did get to one in Flagstaff on the way down.

"In and Out, In and Out, thats what a hamburger is all about"

Where the meant is never frozen and the fries are always cut right in front of you.  One of California's oldest and best traditions.

retagent

I'm sorry, but I think Wisconsin's finest, Culver's, has IN-N-OUT beat for a tasty hamburger. And there is no comparison when it comes to the fries. I think the tofu eaters out west make them fry the potatoes in some "healthy" oil, and it kills the taste.

snoop dawg

Tofu eaters?  I'll have you know McDonald's started here, (not saying they are good).  Have you heard of Tommies?  I will match some of our burger places against anyones.

You have got to be joking.  Only on purpose could you actually enter into an argument with a bunch of Johnnies that some burger place named Tommies has quality food.  I don't care if the Queen of England herself vouches for these so-called burgers, there isn't a Johnnie worth the label that would stoop so low as to taste one.

It's Tommy's, not Tommies. Wrong again, as usual.

The footy season kicks off in one week.  Here are the 2008 AFL Season Highlights.  It's best to watch in HQ.  It's also best to note that the mighty fighting Hawks walked away the last team standing.

EDIT:  If you're saying to yourself, "I'm only going to click one of these damn footy links" then this is the 2008 highlight link to click.  It starts with the blunders, works it's way through the biiiiiig hits and gets onto the spectacular plays.  Again, watch in in HQ.

(speaking of highlights, has anyone heard of the SJU producing a 2008 highlight film similar to the "What is red?" vid they put together for 2007?  That was quite a treat.)
