Well, call me a dork (again) but except for the dated audio I think the tune is OK. As the background to a highlight video it works well. A rousing fight song, not so much, but the tune isn't a complete loss.

And the Bombers beating the Hawks? This year? You'll have to let your mate know that the Essendon coaching staff issued playing socks with holes in both ends as the boys were having trouble figuring out how to get them on.

Congrats to Gustavus (which is now pronounced, according to the ESPNU announcer - Goose Davis) for making the final. I only saw the last half of the third period, but even though they lost 4 - 1, making it to the Championship game is worthy of praise. To bring it full circle, they were beaten by Neuman, which is the alma mater of Brett Leonhart, who, if you remember, was the backup goalie, at least for part of a period, for the Washington Capitals that we mentioned a couple months back.

Good to see you back Kubiak. I hope that means not just back posting. My #2 son is now in Iraq, so that means that both will have done a tour.

Congrats to Gusties for making the final.

Too many lapses hurt them on the bits I watched. Sloppy in front of the net and neutral zone turnovers hurt. Since teams in the West often skate better than Easterners, I thought the big sheet would be an advantage for GAC. Good to see the league in the final tho. I hate the all-East versions.

I still never heard how the fight was resolved. If this is Kubiak then I figure he had the other guy off'd and that's why he can't post here under his old name.

The U is getting a pretty good basketball player in the fall. Just saw the state finals in California (what we call division IV, next to the smallest school classification). Justin Cobbs of Bishop Montgomery High has a sweet shot - hit at least four 3 pointers and swished every free throw - until he had a 1 and 1 with 7 seconds left. He missed the front end, the other team rebounded and scored at the buzzer to win. (The winning team was the high school where my wife works, so we were ecstatic.) But Justin is a good player; Tubby's getting a good one.

pete - I thought the "Ovie shuffle" was rather silly, but I'm not as upset about it as is Don Cherry. It was supposed to be a joint effort with him, Green and Backstrom, but I guess when they saw how it looked, they cold cold feet (get it - cold feet, they're on ice Hee Hee) He's really just a big kid, so I don't think it's a big deal, but I may be biased. At least he didn't "moon" the bench.

Apparently, this is what St. Olaf does with all the spare time they don't have to spend on planning Football playoff tailgate parties!

Some personal highlights from the clip:

1. The nerdy guy with the attempted beard saying "..it comes down here and goes into it's lair." Obviously World Of Warcraft has provided this guy with countless nights of entertainment as well as inspiration.
2. The announcer saying it was "both physically and psychically challenging" Apparently, some heavy level telepathy going on during the project.
