Kira & Jaxon's Dad

When my dad moved to Canada in the mid 80s to coach in the CFL, I couldn't understand why they were calling their Football Jersey's Sweaters.  It was later explained to me the translation from Hockey.

Frank has a story up on the "new press box."

The photo in the story doesn't show what is really the most pressing question: what does the new structure look like in the Clemens setting?

And Duff thought he could fish...

The tiddler who caught a monster: Schoolgirl angler nets record catch that's twice her size and weighs 14stone

(For those what be unfamiliar with the Queen's measurements, 14stone is 196lbs)

Sweet catch!  I would love to tangle with a Wels Catfish!

I was there yesterday and it looks great. They added a third floor the full length of the existing building. Then they extended the depth to the same as the first floor. There will be lots of room like Frank said. In the center on top they added the "crows nest" for film and coaches so they have an even better view of the playing field. Now maybe Brian won't have to sit on Mark's lap while they do their broadcast and they will have plenty of room for their" Jello". ;)

One thing Frank didn't mention was the four very large Bose speakers that are mounted to the front of the building!

Just imagine.........."Turn to page 69 in your Johnies game day progam and if there is a red "Go Johnnies" stamp on it you have won a free pizza from Leo's or a haircut from Joe's Barber Shop" in beautiful Bose surround sound! ;D

Does anybody out there know anyone who has won anything?????? ::)

I guess wearing purple does have its disadvantages. :-*
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

Back in my glory days, they used to drop a box of programs in the training room prior to games.  I got a stamp in one of those, once, but was never able to claim my prize  :D

faunch

Got my invitation to join the J-Club in the mail today.  The brochure looks really nice but I had no idea that Mike Fahey '75  participated in Frack.

Faunch, I suppose I should be happy it didn't mention that I participated in (or used) crack. ;)

DuffMan

Yeah, the Johnnie frack team was pretty dominant, from what I've heard  :D

I want to thank everyone for the prayers, well wishes and kindness. My sister is doing much better. It will take time to see if she will be able to make a full recovery, but I am hopeful. This last week has been quite a rollercoaster. When I arrived at the hospital she was medically paralyzed, on a ventilator, had a balloon pump in her leg to assist her heart and was on dialysis because of renal failure. Today, all of the machines are gone, they let her take a shower by herself and she is already asking when she can go home. I so appreciate all of your support. ;D

Just be glad SJU doesn't have a croquet squad or you may have indeed found yourself on that team!!!
On a related note...back in the early 90's Coach Smith showed me a box of promotional materials the athletic department put together for recruiting STUDENT/Athletes.  They thought it would be a good idea to have Coach Gagliardi write something to put on the first page.  Nobody took the time to realize that in addition to having his age in common with Sid Hartman, John also was in need of someone to proof read his material.  The booklet was beautifully printed with all of John's misspellings and the typos of whoever typed the material.  Thankfully the errors were noticed before the publication ever ended up in the hands of any of the future STUDENT/Athletes.
