Greetings to all my friends, and TDT, too!

While it is true that I won't be at the RF game or the home opener I am always there in spirit!  Thanks, ROR, for agreeing to bring your grill this weekend.  If someone can volunteer to bring a grill and sausages next week to help out JR that would be appreciated, too.  I'll be in full swing for SJU's second home game.  Filling in for me this Saturday will be my brother John along with his son Jack.  They will be in attendance along with Veek Sr.  I'll be listening on the radio and rooting the J's to their first victory.

GO JOHNNIES!!!!

Does JR need a grill for the home opener...Is the school not providing the grill they had last year. I can bring a small grrill if it is needed. Let me know HJR. ;)
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Hey Veek,

I may not have access to the Wild Rice Brats, but I'm sure I could come up with something to please the crowd. What quanity do you usually bring?

As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Johnnie fans:  check out what Falcon coach John O'Grady thinks of SJU: http://www.uwrf.edu/sports/Football2009/FB.9.3.2009.mp3

He says, among other things, the "untold secret" of SJU success is the defense, citing a 14 year average of 14 pts. per game allowed.

GOT BALLS? PLAY FOR THE FALLS!

Since I had to go back to So Minn to assist my mother with a medical procedure (the one we all like so much and it came out clean) I was able to play some golf with an old friend who treated me to a couple Hamms after the round. Mmmmmm!

Speaking of good, maybe I can start another discussion about burgers. For my money, Culvers is in a different league than In N Out. Yeas ago, In N Out were much better than they are today. I think the "Fat Police" got to them and ruined the flavor. As Burt Reynolds once said in a movie when asked if he knew what colesterol was, he answered, "That's what they put in burgers to make 'em taste good."

Also on my way back, I heard on the Dan Patrick Show that Oregon had something like 384 uniform combinations. Can that be confirmed bennie?

RE: The poll above.

The Auggies are up against a conference contender, an almost certain top two finisher in the IACC, right?  No one else is playing that tough are they?

57, I have a couple of favors to ask of you.  1)  Can you cover for me this weekend?  My fiancee and myself are headed to SW Mn to finalize wedding plans.  2) Will also need you to cover on the 26th as that is the fateful date?  I know it is during the season but it is the only time my brother the priest will be able to be back from Japan to do the ceremony.  There is alos some family history for Fall weddings, when my parents emerged after their two day honeymoon my Dad asked how the world series was going and was told that the day before Don Larsen had tossed his perfect game.   :o  And as this is my 1,000 post I must add that :

To be honest, I didn't think last night's all white unis with the goofyfeathers were nearly as ugly as the team's performance.  :D

Excuses, excuses, excuses.  The Mayor could have performed the ceremony and been much more flexible on the date - as long as it wasn't during hunting season or on a "northwoods" weekend. ;)

When will the married couple make their first appearance at the festivities?  There will need to be a red cup toast.  Congratulations.

Tmerton, what time's your flight?

Hope everyone has a good time at the game tomorrow.  I'll be at the lake, but I will tune in the radio!
