Then TC must be the ex-player for SJU and has the HS QB son who's a D1 prospect, or sitting next to him

Didn't this finsleft d@#k come into the game complaining about cost, then complain about light posts, then walk into the stands smoking a cigar after half time refusing to put it out?  Do you allow smoking in the stands in Collegeville?  Then after the comment about the field and town being a dump, which I believe you had already left the stands at the time, was more than enough.

I told you the radio announcers were over the top before the game.  And I agree, that most of the game the fans were cheering for their teams.  It was just this one moron in front of me.

You're Benedictines, accept it and stop trying to be Jesuits.

Good luck with the recruiting.

Trivia for the day. It is 9-9-09 today and the 252nd day of the year (for all you Tommies out there, 252 adds up to 9). Today is Wednesday (9 letters) and the month is September (9 letters).

Who am I to dispute the wisdom of TC?  No one, that's who.  But I won't let something like experience and standing stop me...

My thought on USTD is something like this:  Caruso, looking suspiciously like Denny Green, standing before the assembled Tommie hordes and screaming about the Johnnies, "They were who we thought they were!"

Point is: all the talent in the world cannot overcome bad mojo.  And as for all that talent USTD has purchased over the last two years, I feel for the players.  Imagine throwing away the last few years of your football playing life on that bad mojo.  And for what?  A few suspect scholarship dollars and a bevy of light-in-cranium coeds?  It's not a smart trade.

Not sure if I agree with the last part of your post Oz.  ;D

I'm literally laughing out loud at this statement  :D

To take a break from football talk, check out this photo I took last Friday (click to embiggen).  I never figured out if the owner was in the buffet or at the Cost Cutters next door, but based on his choice of transportation, either of the two struck me as funny  :D

I hate the Tommies as much if not more than I hate the Johnnies.  And while Caruso may suck as a person, he is a good football coach.  He has good talent around them and is installing an arrogance only matched by the Johnnies.  Their backers are the best in the MIAC, and until someone realizes they're slow and you need to make them run with your inside receivers, their defense will be very good.  They are the favorite in the MIAC, but I don't always bet on the favorite and wouldn't in this case, maybe because I can't stand them, maybe because I just don't want to see it happen.  I think Bethel will quietly surprise people, but we'll see this weekend.

A non-Johnnie would refer to this mysterious "bad mojo" as a very, very, very bad call that cost the Tommies the game last fall. The tapes, at numerous angles if I recall, show SJU being lucky to escape in 2008.

We'll see what the Tommies bring to Clemens in a few weeks, but a win would be far from a shocker.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

WW, would you stoop so low as to cheer for the Tommies on the 17th?   :o

It could be an interesting game.  Of course, that is assuming the Johnnies have improved and go into the game with a solid record.

Unfortunately, I have a wedding to go to that day.  Fortunately, the wedding is in Puerto Rico, and I will take San Juan over a Johnnie/Tommie game any day of the year  ;D

Willy, as someone who was standing on the goal line, observed the play, talked to Johnnie players and refs after the game:  The ball did indeed cross the goal line.  After the Tommie player was whistled down.  The ball needs to cross the goal line while play is live if you want it to count.

The Tommies can whine all they want.  They choked.  It's what they do.

We need to continue to increase the pressure on the Toms this year, so not having seen the Toms, I still think they could be better than UWW. Anything less than a national semi-final game would be a disappointment. And to lose to an SJU team that gave up, what like 390 yards to RF, would be so wrong, enough to make that collar just a little tighter. Have a great season Toms! ;)

.

Funny how winning is coupled with arrogance, your new and talking alot of smack for someone who has not posted much.  For years coaches told me that UST gets the best talent, but as we have seen its not always the best talent that wins games, and I love how people seem ready to kick the conference champion off their throne before one conference game has been played...yes the Tommies will be good, but so will Concordia, Bethel and St. Olaf but if you guys want to crown them, then crown them

I think the main problem the Tommies have is purple.  How can you win when you're dressed like a sally (except for UWW and MUC, of course  ;) )?

Doesn't mean the whistle was blown at the right time.
