SJU09

QuoteTo paraphrase Jesse "The Mouth" Ventura-- Schoenecker is only 25 years old, why change it?

Actually, there have been some modest upgrades there (new floor, new scoreboards, remodeled HOME locker room (D-I plush, as opposed to the visitor's locker room which is still in old O'Shag)

Johnnies could be a the sleeper in hoops...I think they might get a home game in the playoffs  I wonder if a return to competitiveness will bring the SJU fans back...the past 3 UST @ SJU games have been played in front of a sparse crowd that MAYBE filled Sexton half full.. and there were more Tommies than Johnnie/Bennies

Maybe JR can organize a tailgate before this year's game?  That seems to draw fans for fall sports

I  remember when the SJU/CST basketball games were a bigger rivalry than the football game.  I personally enjoyed the basketball rivalry more than football.  The fans were crazier and the place used to rock, they turned people away.   It's really sad to see how quickly it died

As I sit here at work helping prepare for and then welcoming the troops home from Iraq, I just want to say thank you to all the brave men and women serving everywhere for allowing me to be free to love Division III football.

Hmm, yeah Kilted, let's see. My 11,000 posts on 200 or so boards compared to your whatever-it-is on two or three boards.

I can think of at least two instances in the past month in which you personally have berated me for not responding to something fast enough. I do more on this site (and in life) than just monitor the MIAC football message board, son. If I don't respond fast enough for you, TOUGH.

Son? Here I was thinking Pat was a recently graduated young fella who refused to give up the college life like the rest of us but somehow found an ingenius way to make a living out of it. Boy, was I wrong!

How old is this guy anyway, 50? In any case, he sure plays the part of the cranky old man well :)
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Pat Coleman

Sure thing. But that doesn't mean I'm going to ignore blatant falsehoods shot at me.

I am 32, and this is not how I make my living. I work at a national weekly sports publication. These sites haven't paid me a dime since 2000 -- I take crap from you guys for free.

Awww Pat...we appreciate you! If it weren't for this site, I would probably have to actually work eight hours a day!

...and give back negative karma.

Amazing how you and KR give negative karma and get it. Seems like there's a connection there.

Thanks, bennie. I know the majority is not very vocal, especially on this board, but I also know the majority is out there. :)

And Pat, if it weren't for you and this website, none of us would even know that Linfield exists or that Bethel really is a college and not a homeschool in Arden Hills.

I'm only doing what the software permits to every moderator, beer boy. Consider it payback since I don't visit this page every 12 hours and systematically applaud all my buddies and smite everyone who dares say something against St. John's, accurate or not.

Now Johnnie Red, I already knew about Linfield, but are you sure about the Bethel thing? I am not sure that this site has convinced me on that issue! ;)

JR,

Maniac is the one who brought up the idea of expanding the Stiftungsfestivities to Johnnie basketball.  He is just looking for free food and a chance to gloat about a Tommie victory.  He knows it is hopeless in football.

Football is probably the ONLY sport it's hopeless in....ole Geoge Durenberger must be turning in his grave knowing where the trophy named for him resides.... it has spent 45% is life @ UST, 45% at GAC and 10% "behind the pine curtain"   ;D  Isn't d3 all about BALANCE?   ::) 8) ;D

But considering SJU is making a big hoopla over the UST@SJU hoops game, introducing the Stiftungsfestivities to the handful of SJU hoops fans does sound good
