Good to sit with freebird at the BU-SJU basketball tilt tonight.  We were both nostalgic about the major benefits of MIAC and D3 athletics over any other!  I'm already looking forward to the BU/SJU hockey series!

JR, let's get this special session going so we can start building the TCF Stadium on the Campus of the University of Minnesota...

Here's a serious question, assuming the put in sprintturf there, would the MIAC play games there a la dome day?  Should the MIAC do it?
SJU Champions 2003 NCAA D3, 1976 NCAA D3, 1965 NAIA, 1963 NAIA; SJU 2nd Place 2000 NCAA D3; SJU MIAC Champions 2018, 2014, 2009, 2008, 2006, 2005, 2003, 2002, 2001, 1999, 1998, 1996, 1995, 1994, 1993, 1991, 1989, 1985, 1982, 1979, 1977, 1976, 1975, 1974, 1971, 1965, 1963, 1962, 1953, 1938, 1936, 1935, 1932

Well Johnnie, I've controlled the whole west board since about 3pm, I think it's time for bed, but since you have been the Johnnie on the spot and I have newly aquired karma powers(cuz I've been here since 3) I would like you to receive my first kamalization. ;D

Virginia, not West Virginia. Still eastern time, though.

esq- No, the MIAC shouldn't play a game at the U of M Stadium, even if they put in a sweet stadium on campus like they should.  I don't see how a game at one of the great MIAC places would draw or show better on TV than a game at the Dome or a future U of M place.  I have to believe that even a Carleton-Hamline showdown would  be better in St. Paul or Northfield than it would be at the U of M.

On another note...gotta love a job that allows you to hang out at the bars and then come back and drunkenly (is that a word?) post on d3football.com.  For all you johnnies out there, I worked at Sal's tonight...unfortunately, Mongo and I weren't boo'd when we walked in this time.
Heaven isn't too far away,
Closer to it every day

Frank, Gotta agree with you on that one...and yes it is a word and you even spelled it right. ;D

Mr.Shoes

Why were you working at Sal's, Frank? This confuses me...
Nice day, huh?

For those who get Sports Illustrated, check out the Scorecard section. There's a writeup on some of the shenanigans that take place - stolen mascots, etc., - when rivals meet. There's one that brings up memories of the Rats' venture against STU a few  years ago, with the infiltration of the Tommies' stands. It reads:

2004: Posing as members of the "Harvard Pep Squad," Yalies hand out 1,800 colored squares of paper to Crimson fans at The Game, telling them that when held up, they will spell GO HARVARD. Instead, they spell WE SUCK.

The best part is there's a photo of it, giant red letters with a white background, spelling out, WE SUCK.

FPM

I guess I missed quite the pissing match the other day.

Don't be too harsh on KR  I am sure he is up to his ears in school work these days.

FPM

I always love a good Mascot story.
The We Suck was one of the best ever.

SUMMIT!!!!!

Agreed. Even with the Dome as an ooption, I think the MIAC has done its last Dome-Day... between costs, scheduling issues with the Dome people and the overall "blah-ness" of playing there, I'd say its a venture the league will not persue further
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

The Strib reported that Macalester was interviewing 4 coaching finalists this week. 3 D3 coordinators and a D2 coordinator. Anyone know who they are?
OK, I know that MAC is not currently in the MIAC, but I think of them as simply being in temporary foster care unti they get their act straightened out.
The new MAC AD seems to think leaving the MIAC was a mistake and has actually hurt recruiting. (wants to get out of the foster home and promises to be good)
