Benchwarmer: Which category would you classify Touchdown Tommy in?  What about Veek? Finsleft? DustySJU? Retired Old Rat? TC? SJU56321? Can you create a comprehensive breakdown for the MIAC PP?

I can feel the - K building up in people right now. When things slow down a bit at the office/school I will create spread sheet and start at page one and will filter each post under one of two categories: Rube Chat and Legit Discussion.

Those posts that talk about TDT's breakfast, Hamm's, or Duffman's fishing expeditions will be summarily disregarded.

I'm kidding. But I'd say most of the mainstays are legit. I'd say those that show up sporadically that have more karma than posts because they're just UST haters are the biggest rubes.  SJU Rube being one example.

Well there goes my database right out the window.  :o

I took a hit there too fins, but at least he didn't mention Anna or Lisa pics or I would be under 100 posts, and few of them legit.  ;D

This is why everyone is annoyed by Johnnie fans.  Because if you say they're not the greatest team around, especially if you're a Johnnie fan, you get roasted and told you're not a true fan/idiot.  But I wonder why this is, because last year I remember some SJU fans not confident about the SJU-Carleton game and they gave Carleton their due.  Is it only because this is UST and you would hate so much for them to win?

How is UST's switch to dominance already viewed as a failure?  They have gotten much better these last two years and now have a chance to make some noise in the playoffs.  I'd say they're right on track.

There's the way you wish it was, and the way it is. This is the way it is. Perhaps someday there will be a substantiated power shift, Concordia gave it a shot, as did Bethel. Looks like it's UST's turn to make Gags rub the back of his neck. But until a school makes 3 or 4 year run at the top of the MIAC, SJU rubes will continue to dominate on the boards.

But not everyone sees things through rose colored glasses. There's the SJU rubes who cannot see anything objectively and are just so blinded by their love of SJU and their hatred of yours truly that there's a failure to have any sort of meaningful discussion, and there's the SJU fans who want to legitimately talk about the upcoming game, and are relatively knowledgeable. You take the good with the bad.

Golly gee Bench, get going!!!  When you make the playoffs once every 20 years it allows you to talk all the $hit that you want.  The ability for others to post has always been here and when said teams couldn't back up the crap spewed. you all disappeared.  WW, as much as I hate to say it has been the only one with the balls to stick around.  If you despise this link and posters so bad why don't you go over to the one that Northern Winter Hawk allegedly didn't start?

Wow...the tone of my post clearly soared over your head. I tend to take things with a grain of salt and post in jest. Albeit when you're in your first year of law school and your alma mater goes 2 and 8 there wasn't much for me to say, but I don't think I talk a bunch of "$hit" as you say. I don't despise anyone...maybe you, but nobody else.

what happened to ND on Saturday? I am afraid you might have the double loss thing going this Saturday. :)

I was at that game. SCSU's goalie absolutely stood on his head. UND had twice as many shots, and most of them were quality. We finally made a goaltending change of our own and Eidsness shut them out but it was too late. Their goalie was hot.

As for UND's football team, Cal Davis won the Great West championship by being the only team in the conference to win a road game this year, and squeeking by UND at home 28 to 20.

This 2009 vintage is a good team, but I would hope we can agree it lacks the "great" aspect.  Prove me wrong boys!

I don't think anyone disputes that this team is less than the great teams of the past, but it is the first 10-0 team in four years and only the third in the last 10.  To begrudginly grant these players a "good" rating is awfully big of you.  Take into consideration that this record was compiled despite a string of injuries that makes the set of ER look undramatic and a series of tough victories against Concordia, Bethel and UST (all at the top of their games when the Johnnies rolled in) and I think a fair assesment of this team is that they are much better than good.  Good is what the Johnnies do every year.  This year, they have done much better than normal.

Now does that mean I am Christianing them the second coming of '03?  Of course not.  Let's see if these guys can make it to the semi-finals and have a good showing.  If they do, then they can be great - undisputably.

If you think this year's players deserve less credit than that, prove yourself right.

But to bring this to a close from my perspective, it feels more like you're going out of your way to argue that this team is less good than they deserve rather than trying to reign us overenthused homers back to the paddock of reason.  What have the Tommies done to earn respect you give them?  I tell you what - they lost to the Johnnies just like they always do.  And, if they make it past Monmouth and we make it past Coe, they will lose again because as Gags says they always find a way.

Concordia is not in this type of discussion until further notice.

SJU is really good.  Their defense is really good, offense is good enough so far, and will be for a couple of games.  I won't listen to talk about injuries because every team has injuries, SJU is better equipped than almost any other team in D3 to cope with these injuries, and sometimes you just have to be lucky enough to have your injuries be one or two game injuries, not season-long injuries.

They have performed better-than-normal, but any performance less than better-than-normal may spell disaster if they have to play UST again.

Well, WithasilentK said it, so it must be true because we all know that he is the last word in DIII football.  ::)

Lot's of fricking bickering in here today.  Where're the Coe folks to liven things up?  They haven't seen anything like they will see in Collegeville on Saturday!!!

Rough Monday Duff?

I didn't think my post was condescending...

I just wanted to point out that Concordia was 3-5 in the MIAC and just lost to GAC, injuries happen, and I agreed that SJU has played better than normal this year.  I just think they will need to continue that if they want to keep playing, which almost goes unsaid.

Again, I didn't think I was berating anyone or bickering.

TDT...homer...yea so what else is new, gotta support my boys, however I definitely give accolades to the opposition with a good play, nice run, solid read, etc worked in, but I just would never openly say the Johnnies will lose, because I think has been uttered on this board they will find a way to win.

I respect the Tommies, great team...but let's not forget it took two MAJOR mistakes for the game to even up, but that is in the past, when or better yet IF they meet again its 0-0 and we will see who executes better.  Both better not be looking ahead or both will be looking at training for next year.

Can't wait to see the Barney costume...definite wardrobe improvement according to some.

Nope, good day, actually.  That entire post was not directed at you.  Most of it was directed at the Johnnie bickering.  I just get the feeling from your posts that you fancy yourself quite the expert on football.  ;)
