Stanbob: It is the odds of winning the West Bracket...not a 2nd round game vs SJU.  There are lots of hurdles and obstacles along the way for all teams in this loaded 8 team dance.

But wouldn't one have to win the second round to win the West?  Or mayhaps you think that ust(D) is going down to Monmouth, who you have listed at even longer odds?

From JohnnieFootball.com:

QuoteOdds of Winning the West Region Bracket:

#1 St. John's–                         5 to 1
#2 Central–                            10 to 1
#3 Linfield–                            6 to 1
#4 Monmouth–                      20 to 1
#5 St. Thomas–                    15 to 1
#6 California Lutheran–     200 to 1
#7 Mary-Hardin Baylor–      8 to 1
#8 Coe College–                 150 to 1

And what happens the other ~25% of the time?  Does UW-W win the bracket or something?

Zip; congratulations on the pick'ems.  The best Johnnie won.

On the posy season, are we atarting over at zero points or do our regular season totals carry over?

We all start at zero for the post season.

Wouldn't have called it that though, would they/he?

Dang right they would have.  When we used to run the so-called diamond formation, it was actually referred to as the Lute formation by the Johnnie offense.

I know, I know, get outa here...

Anyway, my prediction for MIAC player of the year is Fritz Waldvogel.
And my other prediction is that if the two teams meet again, he will leave his guts on the field trying to win that game...ala the first B.E.

Fritz Waldvogel... hmm, no comparison.  I'll be nice and leave it at that.

All right, that's a difficult one to leave alone... let's put it this way, there's never been a player like B.E. in the league.  Before or after.

D O.C.

Agreed.

But trying to emulate the 2003 POY-G trophy winner he will use every bit he has to win said fantasy game.
That may be enough this year.
Anyway, they have to beat Monmouth, don't they?

TDT, I plan to meet with JOHNNIES fans on Saturday, besides I thought you would be at Monmouth supporting your new favorite MIAC team UST.

As for new offensive wrinkles...not sure what Jimmy G will plan for Saturday, but I am sure they are working on something new.

Full house backfield with Sowden as lead blocker  ;D
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

For the tailgate this weekend-are you guys starting earlier since the game time is now noon, instead of 1:00 p.m.? Gotta get those grills going earlier.

Anyone know what we might expect out of Joe B. Quarterback this Saturday?

Will the offensive set be selected to limit exposure to his still mending thumb?

Will we see the albatros Billy Lawrence continuing to block out the sun and grab intercepts from the highly efficient Boyle of Coe?

I was intrigued by your question (unlike, it seems everyone else). I too came up with the same need for another 25% to be accounted for. Evidently Tommy the Geek, didn't crunch his number enough.

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Great point!  How about I come up to the game Saturday and bring two cases to share and we call it even?  One of Hamm's and one of Cobbernations choosing?

Even though I'm unable to attend, I like it. Cobbernation's a stand-up guy so I'm sure he'll be on board. As long as with each beer you hand out from one of the cases you greet each recipient with, "From Finsleft, the football genius. Go Johnnies!"

We'll be square.

I will not be able to attend the game on saturday to receive my prize.  However, I wish SJU luck in the game.  I also saw a post about what to expect from Boyle at qb.  The answer is nothing, they shouldn't have to play him to get a win in the first round.

Freebird,
We could meet up in the cities sometime since I won't be in collegeville this weekend.  I think I will take a case grain belt premium.  Thanks.

Playing with an injury that takes away many of the things you can do is extremely difficult and frustrating for a player, and having your season basically ripped away two seasons in a row is absolutely devastating for someone who I'm sure loves playing football.  I hope he's able to continue to play throughout SJU's playoff run.
