The new MAC AD seems to think leaving the MIAC was a mistake and has actually hurt recruiting. (wants to get out of the foster home and promises to be good)

That makes him light-years wiser than his predecessor
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

That's fantastic to hear. Good for MAC.
Nice day, huh?

One thing I will say in favor of "Dome Day", was that it was nice to be able to watch multiple MIAC games in a row without leaving your seat!;-)  ;D

AO would remind us that there is always the UMAC Dome Day, Bennie, so if you really want to watch D3 football in a row, you can do it then.

I'm with maniac and frank-- I'd much rather be playing on the campus, even if in the cold, then among and under the plastic.

Esque- I think you meant "mediocre d3 football" in a row   ;D

This was in jason Whitlock's NFL Truths column on espn.com. Lighter defensive linemen might be the new trend in the nfl after the success of the Bears. On a much smaller scale, obviously, SJU has been proving that speed might be the way to go on the d-line. They're always outweighed but it hasn't cost them too many times the last 10 years or so.

The success of Chicago's defense will introduce a new trend in professional football: smaller, quicker defenders across the board.

I can't claim credit for this idea. My boy at Sports Illustrated, Jeff Chadiha, mentioned to me that the Bears are getting it done on defense with two 260-pound defensive ends and reasonably svelte 300-pound defensive tackles.

I bet if you added up the total weight of Chicago's 11 starting defenders, it's the lowest total in the league, especially of the teams that play a 4-3. The Bears are playing the run and the pass with quickness.

You hear coaches say all the time that speed kills, but coaches rarely commit totally to speed. Lovie Smith and the Bears have. It's working. And it might signal the end of the Ted Washingtons

I saw that! SJU was the very first thing I thought of after reading it. Between the success of the "too small", fast Bears defensive line this year and the year-in and year-out success of the "too small", fast Broncos offensive line, maybe we'll finally see NFL linemen start to shrink instead of grow. That'd be pretty cool, no? I'd like to see the "war in the trenches" waged by atheletes instead of mountains.

I'm about 6miles north of I-90, I'll wave when you drive by... ;D I'll try to help you with that karma thing. Can't imagine what the board will look like next week when it's down to WW and MU, cuz you know the Johnnie nation will jump all over that ;D

First thing I thought of was Pacific Lutheran '99 but it works for SJU as well.
