Looking forward to a beautiful afternoon in Collegeville tomorrow.  The defense will be solid as usual and it would be nice to have a running game AND a passing game.

Prediction is SJU 21-Coe 10

That sounds about right however throw in a Russel Gliadon FG for good measure and make it SJU 24 - Coe 10.

Not much smack from the IIAC this week... guess they're tossing the towel in early.

It's done.

Direct quote in today's CR Gazette:

In regards to his team's chances of entering the D3 playoffs:
"We've been trying to do the math," said Coe linebacker Calvin Thomas. "No one's really strong at math, that's not our strong point."

Aye yi yi.   Gotta love that quality Coe edumacation.   ::)

You have to understand about our Kohacks...they aren't too good at readin', 'ritin', and 'rithmatic.

There may yet still be a Kohack fan out there hunting and pecking at his keyboard with a retort that may slip in just before game time.    ;)

BTW - I'd be somewhat wary...this Coe team started very slow, and has been improving steadily.  They are playing their best football right about now.  They have a Senior-led defense and offensively they don't make a lot of mistakes.  All that other crap about how other IIAC teams did collectively doesn't read on Coe's status today.  10 weeks ago is history.

Remove the Johnny-goggles for a moment and consider what Pat's game prediction provides as commentary, picking against the Johnnies at home in the playoffs.

Some of us out here won't be surprised by a Kohack win.  Just don't interview any of their players post-game.   :D
You can't leave me....all the plants will die.

Early playoff game today so don't know what will happen here.
Zip bringing Polish Pups to 56321
Veek/usTDT throwdown
bennie still in jammies after late hockey games
Oz hasn't gone to bed yet
Duff at game or nursing Victor Borge
Pat bravely at game after picking Coe

57,
I didn't get to watch any hockey yesterday! :o I went out to dinner and then to see a musical with friends. I am fully prepared to make up for yesterday's oversight with plenty O' hockey viewing today! Hopefully it will be after listening to a Johnnie win! ;D

Does anyone else see the humor in two Tommie posters creating a new 'MIAC thread' and a 'UST Monmouth' thread?!?

Just made me laugh... ;D

Disappointing end but a fun season to listen to the Johnnies from afar. Even in the last minute, I almost expected them to recover that onside kick and go in and tie it, based on the games they pulled out this year. Six turnovers...memories of Dayton, Whitewater in 05, etc.

Sorry, not going to pull for the Tommies against Coe. Can't live in a world where they last longer than SJU in football. Maybe that means the Johnnies will advance further in basketball this year.

bennie

Thank you Johnnies for an exciting season. Thank you to all of the seniors!!! It is a tough way for it to end. Coe played a hell of a game. Good luck to them in the playoffs. And last, but not least, thank you to the Johnnie announce team for doing a fantastic job as usual! :)

Let's get a quick head count of the Johnnie fans who are hopping on the Tommie bandwagon!!  Though I suppose it didn't hurt the Minnesota team back in '07 when a majority of Johnnie fans backed the Iowa team.

I second that emotion. Top notch.

Yes it is.   ;D
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Thanks for the season, fellas.  It's a damn shame it ended the way it did with all those turnovers.  I still reckon this team has great heart and never said quit.

I'm hoping for a big year next year.  Thanks again, boys.

Thanks for an exciting season Johnnies.

Thanks to the seniors who will get a chance to enter the next chapter of their lives.
I know this game stings, but time will make that go away and you will look back fondly at your time at SJU and at the program.

Best of luck

As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Ummm, yeah, so when the Coe backers were proclaiming the excellencies of Calvin Johnson, they never mentioned he looked like that!!! (See D3fb front page pic)

Cripes, when did E.J. Henderson start playing DIII fb?

I think it is safe to say, Coe left no doubt...it is no longer 2002, 1993 or 1991.

Should be an interesting match-up in St. Paul next week.  It sounds like UST has found their stride and won't have to worry about  their SJU demons after all.  Now they just have to worry about whether Calvin is predestined to stomp another MIAC offense.  I'm hoping MIAC number 2 is better than IIAC number 2, but we'll have to see.

Anyone planning on going to the game?

PurpleReign

Unlike the Johns, the Tommies DON'T turn the ball over and so this Calvin clown will not be much of a factor, a factor at DB of all places.
