Unlike the Johns, the Tommies DON'T turn the ball over and so this Calvin clown will not be much of a factor, a factor at DB of all places.

Wow, talk about taking ignorance to an all new level.  Didn't UST turn the ball over against SJU in their loss this year?

And calling Calvin Johnson a clown when he just scored 2 defensive TD's, on the road, in the playoffs...really?  Oh yeah, and he's a linebacker, not a DB  ::)

I'd say act like you've been there before, but I'm forgetting two important things about you being a Tommie.
1- You haven't been there before. :o
2- You being a Tommie fan, I should assume a combination of ignorance and arrogance until proven otherwise  ;D

Please, try not to make it any harder than it already is to cheer for the only remaining MIAC team...

This question is for the multitude of St. Johns fans on this board. Does anyone know if the Metrodome will be used for any playoff games? Has this ever been done in the past? Thanks.

Nope. The NCAA would have to spend money to rent a neutral site. They do that already with the Stagg Bowl. Plus, it would be hard for stadiums to 'hold' dates on the whim that the NCAA may be calling to put a football game that may get to 1/3 capacity (sad, but true) when they could do something else. (Not just talking about the Metrodome, but other stadia around the nation).

Stadia? Are you sure the plural is not stadii?

Stadia, second declension plural, neuter.   ;)

Ummmmm you lost today.  As for Calvin, doesn't make much difference if he is playing the Mike, the Sam, SS, FS, or DB - ST. THOMAS DOES NOT TURN THE BALL OVER.

...and his name is Calvin Thomas.

Oddly enough his nickname since Jr. High has been "kick the crap outta saint".

Huh, maybe it will finally make sense after next week.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Now the smackin' starts over here. Why not? Winners and no history to drag 'em down.

Wow, that was a frustrating game to watch.  There were numerous times that the Johnnies had momentum and looked like they were going to finally come back and take the lead--and every time they shot themselves in the foot worse than the time before.

For two teams that built their seasons on controlling the turnover game (both led their conferences in turnover differential), they were ridiculously careless with the ball today.  Each team had 4 fumbles on a perfectly dry day.  Amazing.  And both quarterbacks put the ball in position to be picked off repeatedly.  Pretty sure Bobby Klint would like another shot at the ball that hit him right in the numbers and he dropped, and the Kohawks were able to deflect a number of passes--some went for Coe TDs, some went for Johnnie first downs, but most fell incomplete.

Pretty rough day for John Ries.  He came into the game cold in the 4th quarter and played 4 plays:  fumbled the exchange on 3rd-and-1 for a Coe TD, hand off, hand off, interception.  Yikes.  It's too bad that Boyle could barely walk by the end of the game.  The line didn't do him many favors today.  It's also unfortunate that the Johnnies' only real passing game on the day was Boyle running around for 15 or 20 seconds, then heaving a TD pass halfway down the field.  It's hard to build a consistent offense around that.

Looking forward to next week, I really hope Coe wins by about a kabillion.  Unfortunately, I think St. Thomas is going to be way too talented for them and will win easy.  I guess that doesn't make me a True Johnnie Fan or something, but whatever.

Wait, I thought Detroit's wideout was playing for Coe...

With Coe's  QB (Boyle) in a sling at the end of the game, it's 5 to 1 in the early wagering if he'll be able to go next week. It's too bad, because he is key to their offense hitting on all cylinders.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

But to defend the point...including the 9-1 playoff record since '99 the Johnnies are 37-3 (93%) at home in late season (Oct & beyond)  games.  Are they beatable? Well yes, just ask PLU, CON, Bethel.

You can ask Coe as well.

Observation from outside your region:  St. John s  has an excellent football program year in and year out.  They are always there in the thick of it.  Always!  and UKcat  there will be no taunting on this board.

Crow is a dish that is best served cold & in private. There'll be no request to eat anything from this MIAC Fan! St. John's had a good year, we could use as much support from you guys as we can get. Thanks

I thought it was interesting today that the first two red-white Boyle passing TD's were big chunks. That's what I understood was lacking.
It is really hard to put everything together for a season.

Sorry to hear of the red-gold Boyle's health.

It was very, very difficult to call the game and listen to the call today with both quarterbacks having the same name.

Thank-you to warrior Gunderson. I cannot imagine what this season was like not walking in your moccasins.
