Congrats on going over the 200 post milestone.  :)

D O.C.

and I smited you so you would get used to it and for that late night comment on every board session  ;D

Veek

Zip,

That jersey is way too nice for TDT, and not quite pink enough.

Have you started worrying about next season yet? :)

Thanks again for the polish sausage.  Damn tasty.

ROR - since when did you start moonlighting as the former Wartburg head coach, Rick Willis?  Scroll down the main page and take a look at yourself.  He could certainly be a brother.  You are in better shape, though.  And I'm sure he can't take as fine of pictures as yourself.  He was one hell of coach, though.

I'm off to Vegas tomorrow so I can bet all my money on UWW!  They will win on Saturday.
Go Johnnies!!!

ZIP,
ROR is right on - it is butt ugly - and perfect.

For all you high school track and field fans, the 2006 state meet will be hosted by Hamline. Other contender was Lakeville South High School.

Why the move from the National Sports center?

Veek,

I think you may be right.  Based on the picture, I think I am in better shape.

Good luck in Vegas.

Whoa Nelly

What are everyone's thoughts on T-Paw's proposal to start lengthening school years?

I just read a post on a newspaper board and one gentleman said to cut back extra curricular activities so coaches can concentrate on teaching more...what a winner.

Congrats to Gopher center Greg Eslinger - 2005 Outland Trophy Winner.  No Div I sniffs out of Bismarckie, ND - starts as true freshman and throughout college career - now nation's best interior lineman.

I watched him play live 5 times this year and he is the man.  Coinsidence many of you were having the conversation about a shift back to quicker linemen? - I would like to see it too.  Eslinger would fit in nicely next to former Gopher Ben Hamilton on that Denver Broncos line.

Nelly-

Obviously this notion of longer school years is the beginning of a slippery spiral into total and complete Communism, I don't think there is any other explanation.

Sounds to me like a nervous teacher is getting sweaty palms because his summer break might be shortened  ;)

It will never happen.

It will never happen.

Your sense of intuition is astonishing.

If this happens I will have to retire and take over Don Krause's job

WAHOO3, the reason for the move to Piperville for the state track and field meet is that the National Sports Center wanted the MSHSL to agree to provide 50% of the funding for the resurfacing of their track (50% of $118,000). The MSHSL board of directors, of which I am a member, was not in favor of this. The contract with Hamline will be for one year to see how it goes. There was a comment at the board meeting yesterday to consider having the meet at St. John's. That could still be an option in the future. One of the important considerations for hosting the meet in the metro area is the large number of volunteers from this area.

Another change for 2006 is that the Class A meet will be in the morning and the AA in the afternoon on Saturday.

Whoa Nelly, the topic about the additional five weeks of school was discussed at the board meeting yesterday. Our lobbyist told us that it will never happen given the additional cost. It would be about $50 million dollars a week to make this happen.

I didn't have specific numbers but I figured cost and the teacher's union being the main barriers.  I just like rubbing my teacher friends a little bit - because I'm sure the summers were more of a driving factor in their career decisions than the though of molding Minnesota's youth.

M&G - could you imagine the magnitude of Flann's heart attack if he had to go 5 weeks longer?
